Our week long journey overseas was the experience of a lifetime. We started out with an eight hour plane ride to Germany where a few of us didn't sleep much, so the jet lag was hitting some of us hard. One of the first sights that I noticed were all of the taxi's. Unlike the taxi's at home they were all nice cars like Mercedes and BMW's. In fact every car I saw overseas were the nice high priced cars you would find here in America. We had an amazing host, Alex, that showed us all over Germany so we were extremely grateful for her! Berlin was a very well kept city and all the streets and buildings were kept so clean with little to no trash anywhere on the sidewalks. Everywhere we went people were walking dogs and even took them in the stores. I loved that! Paris was b-e-a-utiful and looks just like what you would see in a movie! I sometimes had to stop and just stare at the scenery. It was almost hard to believe we had this amazing opportunity in Paris as well as Berlin.
It was neat for me to see some of the historic parts of both cities, like pieces left of the Berlin wall, a Jewish cemetery from the Holocaust, a palace, and buildings left from WW2. The Eiffel Tower was amazing, especially when it was lit up at night. We also saw the Notre Dame, the Arch, the Louve, and so many gorgeous buildings that have been kept up since they've been built. That's only to name a select few of everything we saw. The shopping in Paris is every girls dream. However, it was extremely pricey, but I sure enjoyed window shopping! We performed four times a day at the NBA Jam Van(Berlin) and NBA 5(Paris). That was so much fun to perform for those who don't really know much about the NBA, as well as those who actually play basketball themselves. The fans were amazing and really enjoyed our performances which is always good to know! The experience overall was amazing and eye opening in a way. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Getting to learn about each city and seeing the differences from Cleveland makes me appreciate each city for what they are as well as what they have to offer anyone coming to visit. Paris and Berlin are awesome and I do want to go back. Though, Cleveland still rocks! Go Cavs :)
