Leaving the Past in the Past

Thursday, November 19, 2009, 11:49 PM EST [General]

this may be overdue and some people may not want to hear it, but with the recent panic, i think it's necessary for me to get something off my chest.

let's first admit, even though we didn't win the championship, last year was amazing. the Cavs broke many records and set a lot of personal bests. i knew as the season was happening, that it prob would not be repeated, and there wouldn't be another one like it for who knew how long, if even ever. it was special. it was to be cherished in that time and moment. but now, it is the past and we need to let go. let it remain in its place in our history books. we need to stop dwelling and quit comparing this season to last. no more "we didn't do this last year" or "last year our record was..." it's getting old. we're a totally different team now, so it's POINTLESS to keep bringing all that back up. if we're going to look back on seasons, we might as well just be looking at the 2002 Cavs. then we wouldn't be upset with our Cavs this season at all lol

the point is, drudging up the past is unnecessary and extremely pointless. we need to move on. like with an ex, for an example. you know that one relationship you had that was very destructive and unhealthy, but you stuck it out because the "extracurricular activities" were so amazing? ;) yeah, so eventually you had to let go because it didn't make sense anymore. same here with the Cavs. we need to leave the past in the past and stay in the present. we need to focus on the now and have faith in the new talented team we've got.

it will not be a carbon copy of last year and we need to accept that. we're going to face bumps in the road, we're not perfect. no team is. we will not have an almost perfect home record. we may even lose 20+ games this year. but we cannot let that sadden us or make us feel like we're no good. we need to remind ourselves that we are still a darn good team. we're going to have another memorable season, and i believe we are going to be in serious contention for winning that championship this year. power of positive thinking people! we can do it. no more panic please. this is going to be a long journey, a fun journey, an educational journey, but i do believe we are very capable of concluding the season with the Larry O'Brien trophy. =D

    May 9th

first let me comment quickly on tonight's game. except for the 4th quarter, it was amazing. LeBron's 3 before the half was SICK. those kinds of shots amaze me, and yet i've also come to realize that that's just LeBron being LeBron. so good game tonight. can't say it was great because of the injuries. i'm sure TK's mild ankle sprain won't really affect us at all but i won't feel 100% okay until i know FOR SURE that Delonte's eye is okay. for him to have to leave the game, you know it wasn't nothing. i know he got poked in the right eye and was getting ice on it in the locker room, but how it will feel tomorrow is what concerns me. if he's gonna miss ANY games, it's gonna be a blow for us. IMO he's prob the 3rd best guy on our team. please let his eye heal FAST.

now on to Saturday. i finally get to go to Cleveland after a long 2 months. we're going to the Tribe game. ugh, lol i know. but, i HAVE to get that Cliff Lee Cy Young bobblehead. it's just a shame that giveaway had to be on the same night as a Cavs game. why couldn't they have scheduled it for July? anyways, i will still be rooting on my Cavs at the Tribe game, as i will be wearing my Cavs jersey and i even put a shout out to the Cavs on the back of my Tribe sign. and come 8 pm, i will be tuning in to Joe Tait to listen to the game. i am however PISSED off that the watch party is not at the Q, because i wanted to go to it after the baseball game and at least catch the 4th quarter of the Cavs game. i was so angry when i found out today that it would be held in Westlake. that is something i really wanted to experience, it was like perfect timing, my one chance to finally attend one, but apparently it wasn't meant to be. so instead now i will be heading home right after the baseball game and nervously listening to the game on the radio. being in Atlanta, it prob will be a tougher game and could be a back and forth, close in scoring game. not a game i want to listen to as opposed to seeing. i'm really sorry i'm gonna miss it, but my thoughts and heart will be with the boys in ATL for sure. i hope our guys recover from their injuries quickly. and last but not least, GO CAVS!!! =D <3

EDIT: while listening to LeBron's postgame presser, i've learned Delonte is fine and will play Saturday. yay! =D

    Some People Really Irk Me

Friday, February 27, 2009, 01:58 AM EST [General]

losing tonight was of course sad. but losing Ben Wallace to injury was even more sad. however, with him being a non-scoring factor, i still believed the team would be okay without him as long as someone else stepped up in the starter role and took over his rebounding role. but, as has been very frequent on this website, ppl's negative comments have gotten to me. so much so that i am questioning if we really can recover. i'm actually scared for once and i don't like it. are other ppl seeing something that i don't or simply overreacting? idk if ppl are just mad that we lost tonight or what but many CFs seem to think our season is over without Ben. yes he's a good defender, but can't anyone on our team take his spot? really, you're being this negative about BEN? it's not like LeBron or Mo got hurt. i can't believe it. i'm sorry he got hurt but i don't think this is the end of our championship run. i have to remind myself that ppl also questioned our abilities when Z and Delonte got hurt and were out for some time. and look how well we did. we're not going to win all the rest of the games this season. we are going to lose some games. we're going to have off nights and nights when our shots won't go down. guys might get hurt. but we will bounce back and fix our shaky areas and continue to get better. i believe we have a deep enough team to get through this. or at least i did. i don't know why i'm letting ppl i don't even know, who spend most of their nights in front of their computers posting on forums, affect me and my belief in this team. that's crazy. but i just can't stand the continued negativity on this site when our guys don't play perfect games. how come any time the team loses, a lot of CavFanatics become CavDoubters? =(

but forget all that. time to focus on the next game in San An. GO CAVS! i will always believe in you.

Friday, February 20, 2009, 05:58 PM EST [General]

i just want to say, to all the so-called Cavs fans out there who now think we have no shot at winning the championship because we didn't make any big trades... YOU ARE OFFICIALLY BANNED FROM THE PARADE ON EUCLID IN JUNE... =P

SOME of us fans are LOYAL and still believe...

    GO CAVS! =D
