Kevin Garnett. Ray Allen. Paul Pierce.
Those are the guys that lead young, unproven Rajon Rondo to an NBA Championship just two years ago. Now, after being a part of that championship rost
er, Rondo's head has grown to produce the boisterous fool that he is today.
On Sunday night, Rondo called out one of the league's premier point guards and a class act in Chris Paul by challenging his place on the basketball floor. Throughout the game, Rondo was noticeably jawing back-and-forth with CP3 of New Orleans but Boston's PG crossed a line when he told Paul, "I've got a ring and you're never gonna win one." Wow..
Rondo was just a small piece to the dynamic 2008 championship roster. He wa
s a young point guard who was still trying to learn the ins and outs of becoming an elite NBA player. Meanwhile, Chris Paul led a far less talented team into the playoffs and made two otherwise mediocre players (at best), David West and Tyson Chandler, into all-stars.
Where in the world does Rajon Rondo get off telling Chris Paul, the hands down best point guard in ALL of basketball, that he is somebody because he has a ring?! Sure, Rondo is an exceptional point guard. But he won a championship because Danny Ainge surrounded him with talent, NOT because he is some studmuffin point guard.
Here's some advice Rajon: Shut up and play ball! Your supporting cast won you a championship. You'd be NOBODY with a lineup consisting of David West, Morris Peterson, and Julian Wright.
