Its a Matter of Who wants it. Will the Real Cavs Stand UP?

Monday, May 25, 2009, 02:05 PM EST [General]

WOW! Is all I can say right now but not really I have a lot to say about this Cavaliers teams. I'm truly disappointed with what I've been watching the last few games. For some reason everyone but Lebron seems to be staring in wide open space and if you're going to be a championship team those things can't happen. I know nobody really cares what the fans have to say but you have to be blind not the see this heading for a train wreck unless some serious mindsets, adjustments takes place on Tuesday. The coaching staff have been a bit disappointing. Sitting at home I could easy figure out what the problems are. Yes, it boils down to making shots but where is the passion? What happened to our advantages? There is no doubt we can win this series but something needs to be done. This is what I see.

    1. Coach Brown and Staff- I'm mostly disappointed with you guys. You're suppose to be Coach of the Year but right now looks like flop of the year. Sorry if that sounds horrible, but dang use your bench for God sakes. It's not big secret that Orlando is athletic but dang we have athletic guys at most position ourselves. Why isn't Kinsey getting playing time the guy hasn't done anything but prove himself when giving the opportunity. I have a gut feel the guy could change the series in our favor if giving a chance. What about Darnell Jackson please give the young fellow a chance on Dwight he couldn't be any worse than Z or anyone else. Sometime it comes a point and time when you have to change things up. That time is here staring you straight in the face. We have guys we can use why not give them a chance to see if they could help are not.

    2. Z- Get your **** on the block you are a center for a reason use your height. If Dwight is going to make you work return the favor. Lets see some aggression and some passion big fellow you are big for a reason. Z its time to get mean I know that isn't who you are but being soft isn't getting us anywhere either. Leave the jumpers alone until you get into a flow meanwhile go up hard and strong to the basket. If you keep the ball high and make quick moves or hell post-up close to the basket the better the opportunities and success for this team as a whole. Then kick out the double team to wide open shooters. You are the KEY!

    3. MO- Run your mouth less in post-game and pregame. Where is the hit-man we had during the regular season. If these guys are going to play tight on you take them off the dribble use your speed and quickness break down the defense. Make smart decisions with the ball and slow down a bit. Use that fuel and passion to burn deep inside we need you. You have a big advantage with there guards SPEED something they don't have on their sides. The problem is there using there mind to beat you if you combine speed and smarts in your game its a combination of success.

    4. Delonte- Leave the jitters in the hotel if you going be on the floor be aggressive drive the ball. Stop looking timid. You also have a quickness advantage use it with better decision making without forcing the issues. That doesn't mean play safe it means trust your abilities.  Everyone seems worried about failing  we got to this point for a reason lets take advantage of it.

    5. Andy- spend less timing complaining and D up on Defense. Since your not really an offensive threat. Take pride in being a defensive player and whatever comes on offensive end is a bonus.

    6. Lebron- continue to be yourself. Just make smarter decision in protecting the ball and shot selections but can't really blame you trying make things happen if nobody else is going to step up. It comes a point and time where you might just have to get angry.

    7. Bench step your game up. If you can't come in the game and make a positive impact then ask the Coach to sit your butt down and give someone else a chance to come in the game and step up. Stop taking guys opportunities who want to succeed because you're giving a chance over them. Someone is going to have to help the starters. Will the real bench players STEP UP?

    8. Everyone man up take some dang PRIDE in guarding your man. Guard the guy like he stole something from your mother. Take the Challenge they aren't super human your just making them look like it. Lets face it Orlando is beatable if you play like you want take this series. Sometimes you have to have I don't give a crap mentality and go TAKE IT! CAVS TAKE IT! You want to be Champs TAKE IT!

Really time to do something new!!

Thursday, May 21, 2009, 05:38 PM EST [General]

know as myself many of Cavs fans around the world or truely sicken and upset by that lost lastnight so am I. The reason we lost had nothing to do with rust or couldn't make shots. We lost the game in the third quarter when we came out the game with a lack of energy and focus and somewhere in the back of our minds we thought this team would roll over. In the end that mind set bit us in the ****. There can always be things that could of and should of been done for a better outcome it didn't happen, you move and live another day because after all it is one day,one practice, one shootaround, and one game at a time. You could always add one outcome its not the end nor should one loss ever bee. Here are my adjustments for game to, but before I get to that here are the facts and as we know they may deceive but they never lie.

The good things about this game is this:

    1. The first two quarters we scored 30 points and held them to before 30!
    2. The team only turned the ball over five time to there 13 that is play off basketball right there good job considering we were off nine days it didn't keep us from protecting our  possesions.
    3. They only outscored us five points in fast break that is way better than the regular season has to do with the fact that we were protecting the ball.
    4. We got 42 of our own point paints they got 50 to difference minus eight.

    Bad thing about this game:

1.To beat this team we can't let them score 30 in each quarter during the second half with the lead we had their is no way you come out and score 19 points and give up 30 that is part of the problem the defense let us down in that reguard. Even saying that you can't give up 29 points in the 4th if we don't do that we will the game plain and simple!!!

2.Most of the paint points went to Dwight we have to do a better job of making it tougher put a damm body on him know where he is at the only way he's going to hurt us is in the paint we have to do a better job of bodying him up and putting pressure on the entry pass make him do something other than catch and dunk. It would really help try push him farther from the basket.

    3. The bench needs to step up big time in this series only getting five points off the bench won't cut it even saying that we should of won that games all goes back to those 19 points in the third that hurt us.

    Time for adjustments

    1. This is what its going to take to get the job done. The postive thing about this loss is we can play with these guys and beat them if better adjustments are made. In order to do that we need more speed on the floor to penetrate and ball movement also being smarter about resting our star and not just sticking to the same patterns from first two series.

    2. First we had three of our guys play over 40mins tonight and West almost played the whole game. In order to be successful we can't have Lebron only getting small breaks in the second and the beginning of the 4th that is crunch time we need to try to find a better way get him breaks. I thought he could of gotten alittle bit more rest durning the second quarter.

    Starting Five Offensive!!

1.Mo- Guard Alston and Johnson-MO needs to realize he is the key to the puzzle these guys can't stop him he needs to attack attack like a Tony Parker use his speed and wear these older guys down

Delonte-Take Lee off the dribble and down in the paint and make him work wear his **** out punish him

3.Lebron-Take Hedo we know he can't guard you put him in a spin cycle wear him down so when the 4th comes he to tired to do anything. Move more off the ball and roam don't just hold the ball we know you are great.

4.Z- Get down in that paint and use your size, height, skills and cause all kinds of problems around that basketball. You are to big just be shooting outside jumpers be agressive be physical we know you can make outside shots but get in the paint.

5.Andy- Continue to roam and get these easy laups and dunks just go to the hole hard and under control since there is Dwights always looking to block a shot.

    6. When you have a guy like Dwight that is blocking and rebounding machine. Go to the paint hard and under control if he wants try block your shot dunk the ball so hard try break his hand off that is the only way you can teach a shot blocker next time he see you coming he won't try that again I promise you.

    Defense and Matchups!!

This is where the problems comes in at on the defensive end of the ball forget about all these cross matches everyone should be able to guards and shut down there man heck if you make them work on the defensive end of the ball and wear them down this task will be much easier. The keys make Dwight work for every point and control Hedo and Lewis in the 4th they rather have 3-point shots than two so if Dwight is on the floor make him work for his two-points and protect the three!!

I think its time to see two key folks off our bench because like I said early we can't only have five points from the bench. Lets give Terrance Kinsey and Sasha a chance to show what they are made of why have a deep bench if you're not going to use it.

The main goals besides shutting down Orlando's big 3 is Pietrus off the bench if you put TK on him and Sasha on Lewis and Keep Lebron on Hedo that will allow MO to continue to guard the PG and allow Andy some time on Dwight he will at least make him work and frustrate him. At the end of the day when crunch time in the 4th you know those guys will be on the floor. This is about match-ups and not hurting anyone feelings. Even if its to give them a different look in the second and third quarters then do it if you want to go back to the regular rotations in the 4th. But can't let those two guys sit and rot on the bench without seeing what they can at least give us you never know. When TK has been giving a chance the guy has come through go back and look at that Sacramento game without him we might not win that game he hit some clutch shots in that 4th quarter. Another thing it gives up is SPEED you can never have to much of that then everyone on the floor can get out and run get back on defense. And just maybe it will again allow our star to maybe some some extra rest down the stretch because Orlando can't leave anyone open both of them can at least help penetrate the defense and we know TK can dunk the ball if he gets inside the lane more folks for Orlando to account for. We aren't Boston and Philly since Orlando likes to point out they aren't Detroit and Atlanta we have a deep bench for a reason lets use these guys. Hell if nothing else at least they won't have time to game plan since they probably know these guys won't get any burn aways. MY O MY Want they be shocked by then to late!!

What if it wasn't a tommorrow? Play like there is no tommorrow and have no regrets.

Saturday, March 7, 2009, 03:01 PM EST [General]

Yes, today is a new day but what if it wasn't what excuse would you have knowing that you blew it, and didn't leave everything that you had on the floor? Knowing that someone else wanted it just a little more?

Just like most of you I'm sicken by last night loss. I can't believe Coach Brown would try out a new scheme for one of the biggest games of the year. That is the most disappointing thing about this whole thing beside his horrible rotations. The time is now for everyone look themselves in the mirror take reasonability for there own actions. This team is heading towards a horrible pattern and someone needs to step up and break it before it cost us a championship.

The time is now to realize we only have a hand full of games to get this fixed. So we don't have another Game seven heartbreak on the horizon. It starts and ends with our coaches and leader its time to RISE UP and Play Cavs Basketball hustling and grinding. No team should ever beat you on pure hustle and want that's what happened. Where is the Heart of this team? I suggest someone try finding it Right Now!!

A change in mindset needs to come!!! Before a ring will!!

Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 02:56 PM EST [General]

Like most of you, I'm sure are still reeling and devastated two days later by the latest Cavs lost. These are some of the same feeling I felt over a lesser Washington Wizards team. What hurts the most was the loss not the streak I always knew the possibility of going 41-zero wasn't an option. I felt as if it was an insult to have a sick Kobe Bryant in your building the supposed best player in the NBA and not being able to come out with a win. By having him on the floor should have been and insult to the whole team to me that's saying "I'm not a hundred-percent but still a half a Kobe better than a healthy Cavs team". A win never should have happened. I wanted to see the team go after him and see how sick he really was and no one seem to take advantage of it.

There was no excuse for a soft Lakers team to push and out rebound us the way Lamar Odom did in that third quarter. NO EXCUSE where was the leadership? Yes Lebron is our best player but best player doesn't always make you the leader. I often question myself about who is that one guy that will get into someone's face on this team if they miss an assignment or do something stupid. The sad thing about it is we don't have that person. Every great team that has won championships has had that person.  For some reason when I'm watching I don't see that person emerge everyone seems to look around and say "my bad, my fault." Its time out for those its time for someone to stand up and take responsibility and be accountable if someone does something costly.

After watching Lamar gobbling up all the rebounds and put backs you would think someone would say coach. "Put me in and let me shut his **** down he's killing us' Instead all you saw was guys looking at each other showing no heart. That is not a championship team to me that is a bunch of little girls crying foul. The Cavaliers are an NO EXCUSE team well it's no excuse to have a Lakers team that is getting all this hype come in your building and handle us the way they did in the second half. I'm sick and tired of hearing our goal is to win a championship that's every team goals it just doesn't start in the playoff it starts every time you walk out on the floor no matter the opponent, time or place.

As the trade deadline nears. I know most folks think we need more height or better pieces to complete with the Lakers and Boston. I think the guys need to reevaluate themselves and realize if they really want to be champions there should never be a lack of passion and aggression. You can bring in all the new bodies you want but rebounding and bringing those intangibles is a mindset and either you bring it or you don't. It takes more than saying you want to accomplish something it takes actions as well.

You would think Lebron would have been more aggressive and stop taking those stupid jumpers. Until he realizes he's not a jump shooter a championship won't make it to Cleveland. Sometimes he seems to be more caught up proving that he can continue to make these shot and that's not the case on a consist basics. For a guy with his talent it's a shame he doesn't use that big body down low more. Until Lebron learns to bring that same passion, intensity that he brings to the Mecca of basketball to every arena he plays in along with some killer instincts a championship won't be near. As I always say "the small town will stick by you and support you for life. The larger ones will replace you as soon as something new and better comes along".

The time is now! Stand Up and Stake your Claim

Friday, January 30, 2009, 03:14 PM EST [General]

I'm sure that most of the Cavs fans are truly sickening and sadden by last night turn of events. As a fan of the game of basketball I felt two loss one from the game and the loss for the City of Cleveland not giving the opportunity to have more than one player to be able to resent them during the all-star game.   What is the all star game really about? It is really about being popular, your team winning, the way you elevates your teammates, or is it the fact that all those things really doesn't matter? From where I'm sitting all this just proves that Cleveland will never get the respect is deserves. You can't tell me other coaches around the league can't see the fact that Mo Williams have elevated this team to a whole new level. At least I can say he doesn't need to get benched the last few games the way Devin Harris has what a crock. I wish coaches had to make there vote public to really see where the leak in the kitchen is coming from.

There is no excuse for the lack of energy, hustle, and passion that was none existed during this game. Only a few hours before you realize with the best record in the league one of our own gets snubbed. That in its self should be enough for the team to be ready to play on a national television game against the team with three all stars when you have the better record.  Someone needs to rip a new hole in this team you want to win a championship its starts now everyone needs to play there role.
