Why does my avatar look the way it does?

I like the way my avatar looks up on the top right side of the header and my profile, but it scales it very wierd on the forum pages.

It looks just fine to me, but I get where you're coming from. I've got a full head-shot in other areas, but I'm 'all up in people's faces' in this area. Yours shrinks down toit looks like all of them do. I just went with what I'm using for now to get on board with everyone else, but I think I'm going to have to play around with a few to get the right scale for both. Perhaps TJ, Juice or Robby have some info as to what might be a solution? Undecided

Yeah, the avatars used here in the forums are roughly half the size of our profile pics, and it crops it down to the center square.


So starting with this pic as your profile pic, here's what it would show here in the forums.



So if you wanted to use it, you may have to have someone move JB down a bit to center him, so that you'd get a different crop for your forum avatar.

I think he meant just about anyone can do it using Paint or Photoshop.  And if you don't know how you can ask either Juice or I to do it for you.

I'm having trouble uploading any pics.  It just won't work.  I tried turning off my firewall and adjusting any security settings that might hamper me but to no avail.  I'm trying to upload pics from my photobucket account.  Any suggestions???

You don't have to load pics from photobucket, just from your computer.  This site hosts the images for you.  You can still post photobucket images by copying and pasting the URL into a post, but just load up the pics from your desktop or wherever on your computer they are and you'll be golden.


On a side note, jpg's seem to be the best choice here.  At least if you want to make a slideshow with them, they have to be jpgs.
