Locked: Mike Brown = decent Coach, but not good or great

First before I start......Last year, some people pointed out that we need a Big strong center and taller guards......they were dissed and told to go away, as if they were wrong.  Funny, they ended up right.

This year, just as last year, Mike Brown is decent....but he is far from being a good coach.  We win alot of games because of LBJ.  We lose some games because of MB's lack of adjustment, improper timing on substitutions, lack of playing certain players while giving others too many minutes, etc.  He is good as far as getting his players to play defense, but that is where it stops.

My problem with Mike Brown is he doesnt pay attention to what is really going on in the game.  For example:  In the playoffs, he put a short guard on a tall forward, and our forward (LBJ) on the other team's PG.  Is that smart?  No.  The problem was then, as it is today....when other teams or players start to heat up or get into a rhythm, MB fails to act.  Its as if he has his minutes already set...down to the very last second on the clock.  That is not how you coach.

Another example, last night against the Wizards....Lebron set until 6:40 left in the second quarter.  Why?  Yes he needs rest, but that much?  Plus the Wizards was starting to get into a rhythm.  Which means you call a timeout, regroup, and get your best player in the game so the other team have to worry more about playing defense and spend most of their energy trying to guard LBJ.

Im not saying Mike Brown cant coach at all....but he needs to think about his strategy a little more...during the game.  Now this is my opinion, rather anyone like it or not

MB may have some areas to improve on, but here are the facts, not opinions on his playoff coaching..

In the postseason, Cleveland is the only team to have reached at least the second round of the playoffs in each of the last four seasons and one of just six teams in the NBA that qualified for the playoffs in each of the last four seasons. In those four playoff appearances, Brown has led the team to a record of 36-24 (.600), which tied for the second-best playoff winning percentage in the NBA over that span, and 7-4 (.636) in playoff series, making him the winningest playoff head coach in team history. It was also the first time in franchise history the team had a winning record in four consecutive postseasons.
