When I can't write "t****apa John's" (2 papa john's) because it thinks I wrote "****" (derogatory term for Italians), the word filter is definitely in need of a tweaking.

The word Not...followed by the word watch shows up as no****ch.

 

Pretty obvious why the starred part is censored...but just thought I'd point it out.

yea i agree. but this is why the site is still in beta testing.

I commented on this previously, but I think it bears repeating.

 

I agree the censor is too restrictive. It seems to be programmed to respond to letter sequences, not sequences in context.

 

For instance, on the other board, words could be set up to be censored if they appeared alone OR in place in any word construction. That was very helpful, as some words contain letter sequences that form profane words--but aren't profane in their entirety.

 

I feel sure this is on the 'TO DO" list though, so probably best to ride it out and see how it develops.
