I would be interested to hear this answer also, perhaps it's a glitch in the beta program system we are involved in?
I know there was a thread in the NBA section back in the early rounds of the playoffs that also at one point didn't show a "Reply" button either. At first I thought it had been locked, but it was an Official series thread made by a mod that didn't seem to need being locked, so who knows?

I have no idea? Have you received a message reply about this?
I tried updatiing the thread, closing and opening it, and moving it. None of those things generated a "reply" button option. The thread wasn't closed, so it should be available for reply and it doesn't have an expiration date.
