too bad, i liked the kid, lets hope it is to make a run at joe smith

when does snow's contract come off the books? i know it comes off in febuary, if it comes off before the deadline, we would get 2 uprising young players (like we have with west and gibson) for wally as a possibility, asnd knowing ferry he would probably do that

Mostly a business move.

If a player is still on the roster on January 10th, his salary for the season becomes fully guaranteed.

The move saves about 2/3 of Jawad's 2008/09 salary ($442,114) and the luxury tax payment of $442,114 also.  Jawad did get paid about 1/3 of $442,114 so far this season.

We can now sign a player to a 10 day contract - if a decent big to fill in for Z becomes available.

I wish Jawad woulda got a shot in some of the games he was available. He sure looked like a keeper in summer league. I thought he ride in the parade come June. Hopefully he gets back with us somehow. I dont understand why waive him if he already received that much cash already???

What Jawad needs to do is play basketball, which he wasn't gonna do in the NBA this year. He needs to go down to the D League and start playing. The Cavs will be keeping a close eye on how he's playing.

Roster is set: time to get busy!

Being from the hometown makes it a little hard I imagine for him. I hope he absorbs the blow well. I think that 400 grand helps a little huh.
