I don't really get the Kinsey argument either. Sasha and TK are essentially the same age, so wouldn't it make more sense to give PT to a guy who has shown he can contribute in the past, and is better built to play in the NBA? |

I'd like to see Kinsey play more because he HAS proven that he does have some potential. He's guarded Kobe Bryant very well in the past (a guy who will be standing in our way to the Finals, mind you), and he's proven that he can score in the past (averaged 19 ppg over a stretch of 12 starts for the Griz), and he takes it to the hoop strong and draws fouls.
However I trust Mike Brown more than anyone to decide who should get PT.
It baffles me when people call in on the radio and say "Why doesn't Mike Brown play this guy, why does Mike Brown love this guy" etc etc. Last time I checked HE is the one who practices with the team. That's where you earn your minutes, in practice.
I think that we are going to need all the help we can get defending the perimeter, especially in the playoffs. We may need three defenders who can guard Kobe. Kinsey seems like he could be effective guarding Rondo and Allen, too. We've all been wanting our perimeter defender, maybe he is right under our noses already? |

I dont get how this turned into a TK vs. Sasha thing but whatever...
IMO Weve seen what Sasha can do...he's went from a starter to our 8th/9th man. Last year he was out played by Devin "the dude" Brown.
We have yet to see what TK can do. I would venture to say Sasha's horrible play is the very reason we picked TK up.
Sasha has been outplayed by Boobie, Delonte and Wally and he's the guy who has spent most of his career playing with/practicing with/against LeBron. C'mon I think TK just like Devin, Boobie, Delonte and Wally would probably out play Sasha if given the chance. Sasha has been reduced to the new Ira Newble.
I just dont see how anyone could argue who is better since we have no idea what TK could do for this team given the opportunity. Sasha pretty much lost job like 4 times over to 4 different players..almost as soon as they played for MB.
I think the only reason Sasha gets burn over TK now is because MB kinda likes him. Sasha is the Euro player (guys who are NOT known for playing defense) who Mike Brown has helped molded into a a guy who plays defense...thats why Sasha plays over TK and Jawad IMO. |

when will people stop trying to force themselves to think sasha has potential? why do people constanly forget how bad he is? every time he makes a shot, people think he's about to become an allstar...just because he hit one wide open jumper in garbage minutes...
SASHA IS NOT GOOD!!! he has a decent jumper, but who cares when he can't even be trusted to dribble or pass the ball...he might have a couple of good plays in a game, but then he counteracts those with at least 2 other terrible drives that lead to turnovers. this bum should not be allowed on the court. he is a disaster - like i said, you simply cannot have a shooting guard on your team who commits a turnover every time he tries to dribble or do anything with the ball.
for some reason people are so easily impressed with sasha...every time he makes a few shots people suddenly think it means he's going to transform into a great player - WRONG. i think people realize sasha's game is garbage, so any little positive thing he does is a big deal when it shouldn't be - we should not be getting excited just because sasha made a pass or dribbled for 3 seconds without turning it over.
people's memories are too short...they see one good play, and they forget about the 3 terrible ones that came right before it. |

what? his game has not been salvaged at all. i hate this kind of mentality. a player is on a team for a few years and people get attached to him and want him to stay just because he's been around for so long. like that dirty sock in the corner you just keep forgetting to throw in the hamper...just because he's been on the team for a long time doesn't mean we should keep him. if anything, it's more reason to get rid of him because he's had many years to prove himself and has only proven that he is a turnover machine with a pea brain.
if a player doesn't perform, he simply needs to go. some might say he has been doing decent by his standards, but sasha's game is so terrible that simply dribbling a few steps without turning it over is a breakout game for him...this not good enough. we cannot be happy just because he went a few minutes without doing something stupid. we should not congratulate him for doing the bare minimum.
the only way sasha can survive is if he simply stands around and doesn't try to dribble (because that always results in a turnover)...why would you want a player that has to stay away from the ball because he's a risk? this leads to a stagnant offense that is easy to defend...if you want to have a good offense with plenty of movement, then you need players who can move with the ball and keep the defenders scrambling...if you have a player who can only wait in the corner, then the other team will have an easy time shutting you down. WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP STICKING UP FOR HIM????????!!!!!!

Sasha needs to do more catch and shoot and less ball handling. It seems to me that most of his stupid decisions come with him handling the ball. I'd like to see Sasha doing more catch and shoot and more slashing to the hoop without the ball. I think that was more of his game in the finals run. He is trying to do too much IMO. |

The reason why i personally have been hanging on to the thought of sasha as a baller and hopefully a cav for a long time is simple. When he plays with confidence, he is an above average offensive player (if you watched the cavs 2 years ago when he was inserted into the starting lineup, i have no idea how you could disagree with me). And with his diminished role the last year and a half, he has proven to be an above average defender...IMO if he gets his head right again, and brings the same confidence to the table he did two years ago, coupled with his vastly improved defensive game, he can be a very serviceable starter in the NBA |

I have no idea how I never managed to "realize" that little analogy...But you're right.
I'm not hating on Sasha (I know I have in the past), I just think Sasha is at his best when he's not forcing things and when he isn't dribbling the ball. He's played quite servicably when he's played without forcing action this year, and I think that has made him that much better from last year. He just needs to do that more often when he gets the chance. And with that said...I think his size can help us on defense in certain matchups, so he's valuable for us there as well.
One thing I have noticed is that him and Andy have always played well. Whenever Sasha is in off the bench, I'd like to see him out there with Andy pretty much at all times.

Yeah Sasha does play well with AV. They have a nice chemistry together.
I think this is because of the style of play they both were coached for. IMO Sasha is at his best without the ball. He is more of a guy who fits in a system that moves the ball and people (which is supposed to be our offense) I see this when Sasha plays. He gets the ball at the top of the key..makes a pass into the post and then usually cuts to the basket while in position the recieve a pass. I dont think our offense is suited for that or that we run plays in that fashion and we definately didnt do that last year.
Ive said it before that the "random offense" we ran in years didnt fit Sasha. It either made him a guy who stood around waiting to catch and shoot or forced him to try and create his own shot which is NOT his game.
Thats why I wanted to see plays ran for him off curls and screens for mid range jumpers (ala Rip Hamilton) when Sasha used to start last year. We never did it and Sasha was a complete afterthought in our offense.
With that said I still believe Sasha would excel in offensive system suited to his skill set...one that doesnt look for him to try and create his own shot off the dribble...thats not his game.
Our offense has improved because we have shooters (like Mo and Delonte) who can not only hit shots in catch and shoot situations but they can also create off the dribble. Our Motion offense with cuts and screens to set up mid range shots or cuts to the basket for lay ups has not really developed. If/When that developes...guys like Sasha/Wally will shoot at higher %'s and be more effective.
So I see Sasha's fade away jumper as something he added to his arsenal to fit our system that is more suited for a person to some kinda move that creates his own shot. |

Sasha's fad away has always been with him. Sasha is still my man on this Cavs team. like i saidon a thread some time this week that it's hard to keep your confidence up when you play 25 min. and score 13 points and the next game play 6 min. and take one f'n shot. how can ANY PLAYER keep his head up and the confidencehigh when things like that happen to them. one more thing, people talk about Sasha's facial expressions all the time. what in the hell does that have to do with playing bb. look at boobs with his smug looks when he hits a shot. big deal who cares?
GO CAVS!!!!!!!!!! and hang in their Sasha your o.k. |
