I predict that we will trade Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic to Phoenix for Shaq.

It will happen before training camp.

I'm really not sure we should get Shaq, unless we have another way to get a center(like Chandler) who can be the glue for the future.

Z is still too old, along with Shaq. I was for getting Shaq at the deadline, but I think I'd like to pass though. We just have too many pressing needs, and Shaq only fills that void for one year.

Besides, we have to prepare for Shaq giving a serious drop off in production. I just don't like the risk.

I say we press hard for Bosh, which I don't think is THAT out of the question.

Well I'm no hero, that's understood... All the redemption I can offer a girl is beneath this dirty hood.

I know it is just a one year "fix", but we give up little or nothing to get Shaq for that one year.

Z and Shaq can share the center duties, maybe even play together on occasion.

IMO, we don't have the assets to offer Toronto for Bosh.  I would wait and try for Bosh/Amare/Wade/Joe Johnson summer 2010.  I would also let Andy walk to preserve our 2010 cap space.  I would go with JJ or DJ or Joe Smith (offer him a one year contract) at PF.

Why would Phoenix trade Shaq for an expiring and Pavs buyout when his contract is coming off the books after next season anyways?  Would that help them out with lux tax concerns?

I agree the Cavs don't have the assets for Bosh.

Yes - with a very possible retirement by Ben (for less than his $14 million) and Sasha's contract for 2009/10 (it is guaranteed for only $1.5 million), that would get Phoenix under the luxury tax.

Why dont you want Shaq? It will be a win win for us, we are getting rid of 2 big expiring contracts for 1, lessing up our salary cap to sign new players the following year, and Shaq is not doing anything but going up on his game.

We got this!

Shaq has been in the league for 16 years. He is OLD. He will be retiring here soon. We wouldn't want him because he couldn't supply us for long enough. If we get his teammate, Amar'e Stoudamire, that would be even better. 6'10, awesome presence down low, Pheonix fans are sick of him, he wants out, he averages more than 20 ppg., 8rpg., almost 2bpg, and we need a big man that can supply on offense and defense. Ilgauskas is just too slow. Andy has great energy and he is the second best defensive player on our team but he just doesn't cut it on offense.

This one dont make sense to me....?????? Ben, Sasha and Shaq are all coming off the books after 09/10. It's a wash up so either we trade or not we lessen up our salary cap in 09/10. The only reason the Suns would do is that they will save money if Ben retires or ask for a buy out and get rid off Sasha right away since he is only guarananteed for 1.5M
