Why did we get rid of Tarrence Kinsey?

I addressed this in another tread, but I decided to make a topic of it, since no one ever really seemed to talked about it.

Why did we get rid of Tarrence Kinsey?  He was a good player who never got minutes and could've been a contributor. He even started a few games last season and played very well in those games (I believe he reached double figures multiple times) - then after playing great for a few games, Mike Brown rewarded him by benching him and giving him almost no minutes at all for the rest of the season.  What kind of coach does that?

The only reason I can think of that the Cavs got rid of him is because he got that DUI.  Sometimes I think the Cavs try too hard to be a goody-goody "family" organization, to the point that they will actually get rid of a good player just because he isn't a saint off the court.  The Cavs need to realize that they aren't running a church, they are running a basketball team.  The most talented players should get priority.  Sometimes it seems to me that the Cavs favor "well-behaved" players over the most talented.

Look at all the good players the Mike Brown has buried on the bench for no reason and were then released from the team (Flip Murray, Devin Brown, Tarrence Kinsey).  Why do they keep getting rid of these guys, and then they pick up a much worse player in Karl.

Sometimes I wonder if Mike Brown and Danny Ferry have lost their minds when I witness some of their roster choices and lineups.

Mike Brown seems very flaky with his lineup choices and players will perform very well only to end up in Mike Brown's infamous "doghouse" for months at a time with no explanation and for no discernible reason.  What is up with this?

We got rid of him because he was bad...it is that simple.

If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.

Barett should have made the team better pass pointgaurd than gibson and thats what we need cause we have guys that can score points. i no he is the bench warmer but in interveiws it just seems so awkward and stuff. I hate to say it but it ruins the look or the bench. Good player good player ........... Rich kid that kinda looks like white trash. and there has to be a free agent that just wants to be on a team and will take low money that is better than karl

Well, you must not have been watching the same player, because every time I saw him get significant minutes, he was very solid and should've been rewarded with even more minutes.

He averaged 14 ppg as a starter, in like 10+ starts, which isnt bad at all, and he was solid defensivly, i was wondering why too we let him go so early, and is karl who took his spot any better than him, jw

Thank you - it's alway nice when a person who is actually informed can make a statement backed by facts, rather than just throwing out random statements based on nothing.

Yeah, so WHY WOULD MIKE BROWN BENCH A PLAYER WHO AVERAGED 14 PPG AS A STARTER?!!!!! WHY, MIKE BROWN, WHY ARE YOU SO DUMB?!!!  Kinsey gets 14 ppg as a starter and then Mike Brown goes and benches him for the rest of the season.   That makes perfect sense (sarcasm).   Sometimes I think Mike Brown's head really is full of nothing but baked potato.

And everytime I saw him out there he turned the ball over every other possession. The guy was a turnover machine.

He was a good player but there isn't enought space for him on this team...

My Kinsey memory is when mike brown put him in in a blowout and he broke his knee on a crossover or somethin lol

Karl is no better than kinsey to be completely honest, now i dont know behind the scenes stuff, which may have been why he got cut, but Kinsey is a much better overall player than Karl, Karl has a slightly better shot, but kinsey is a better athlete and a better defender, i dont see why we got rid of kinsey and replaced him with a lesser SG, why didnt we keep a PG, since Gibson is not a PG and we already just drafted Green, we signed Moon and Parker, who both can play the 2 guard, so keeping another SG, just doesnt make sense to me
