^^^^You make some great points especially in the way Brown seems to handle players.  I must admit I was never a Shannon Brown and I'm still not I just think he found his way onto a team that any of us could have played for and probably done as well.  Adam Morrisson for God's sake did the same thing.

That being said I can't name a single player who has gotten better with Mike Brown as a coach and before anyone says LeBron James um no sorry no way LBJ got better in spite of Mike Brown.  This is why I don't see a future for JJ Hickson or Darnell Jackson here.  Danny Green might have a chance because he played 4 years at UNC under the coaching of Roy Williams who could probably out coach Mike Brown any day of the week.  So if Mike Brown can't "coach" it's no wonder Danny Ferry doesn't really participate in the NBA draft.

^^^^ Exactly. With the current coaching regime, the only way this team improves is via trade and free agency. Let's face it, the Cavs are good enough that with LBJ we will likely will get high first round picks anyway, likely not anyone who will be starter material, but it's still important to have a coach around that will trust in his players and be able to develop them no matter what spot they have in the rotation. You also never know if you've got a diamond in the rough wasting away on your bench if you don't play them, and don't develop them.

that has always been one of my major problems with Mike Brown... he doesnt trust rookies, or even younger 2nd year players.  If you look at the NBA, players like Derrick Rose, Courtney Lee, Michael Beasley, Russel Westbrook, OJ Mayo, Brook Lopez, Mario Chalmers... those were all rookies, same draft class as JJ... and they got SIGNIFICANT minutes with not only the second team, but they got time to get out and run with the first teams too.

The only way those young guys are going to learn is to be thrown in the fire.  A lot of those teams who drafted those players didnt have the luxury of playing with LeBron, outside of maybe Miami with Wade.  When you have a superstar on the floor, he can make up for some small mental mistakes and physical lapses that a rookie may have.

Look how big Rose and Lee were in the playoffs last year.  Mike Brown needs to check himself, and learn from some of his peers.

Now i dont know how many of you remember - since im on my abuot 5th accont cause i keep getting ban for making fun of people :( - but when the Cavs made the deal to get Delonte, Smith, Big Ben, and Wally... i said the only bad part of that trade was we had to get rid of Shannon Brown.

- Mike Brown does squat with him, and refuses to allow him to develop.

- Phil Jackson gets him via trade, sees potential in the kid, and works him into a championship team rotation.

I've told my friends before, sometimes I think Mike Brown let's his personal agenda come before what's best for the team. My best example of that was game #7 of the conference semi finals 2 years ago CLE @ BOS.

Devin Brown would have been the difference maker in that game, without a doubt, especially with Boobie out. Coach decides to bench him because of whatever incident the two of them had in practice.

Instead he gives an ice cold Wally a bulk of the minutes, (0 points) and then he turns to Sasha Pavlovic, who hardly played at all during the regular season.

He let a personal issue stand in the way of his team's success, and the likely further advancement into the post season. The Cavs would have had no trouble against the Pistons if they moved forward.

Look at the trouble Stephen Jackson is causing in Golden State. The guy demanded out! You don't see coach Nelson benching him though... For now he still plays for them, and still puts up productive numbers.

UGH! It hurts just thinking of it...

yes it really does hurt. J.J. is supposed to be backup PF but only gets 5 mins. ON WHAT OTHER TEAM DOES THE BACKUP PF GET 5 MINS OF PLAYING TIME!!!!!????

I never knew this and hope it's not true because MB's focus should be on helping the team to win, not winning power struggles. Maybe he felt he had to show his who's the boss. Maybe he needed to keep control of the team. Let's give credit to the coach who gave us the best regular season record last year and lost it all by a thread. However, I won't forgive him if he never uses Green and Hickson for the benefit of the team because everybody says they're talented. In this try out mode that we are, why not see if they can help?

I really dont see what everyone sees in Green-----he was okay but isnt all that quick nor that big00JJ has got to learn to block out and play D before hes given many miutes---even my son was asking the other night why JJ was always trying to rebound from behind and jumping over people. I see improvement but the reason he got jerked so quick against boston was in four minutes he lost his man twice and didnt box out-----you have to show him this is unacceptable.

Don't forget Danny hurt his butt (strained glute technically). He didn't play much at all in pre-season.

I do agree that if Delonte doesn't play for some time to come, we need to play Danny Green some. Parker is playing way too many minutes early on. Our backcourt is off to a rough start. Mo needs to pick up his game, we need his scoring especially. You know we are struggling when Boobie plays 34 minutes in the Toronto game (he did play well, though).

LETS GO CAVS!!

Hey Ledan, I totally forgot about that injury he suffered in the preseason....I'm willing to bet you are right on that being the reason so far we haven't seen him much.  And with this being the beginning of the season I'm sure they want it fully healed before they even think about playing him. (speculation) I hope that's the reason cause again....any time Gibson doesn't have to dribble the ball is a good thing for the CAVS. Shoot Boobie Shoot just don't dribble to much! (REAL TALK)

I WISH LEBRON'S DAD WOULD HAVE WORE A CONDOM!

I just want to applaud everyone who posted on this board. Everyone made sense and has sense. You all made some really good points on why Mike Brown isn't a good coach. I would love to have a coach who doesn't hold grudges on players on the Cavs. Now someone will probably come to this board and say Mike Brown was coach of the year..........lmao. ONLY because he has Lebron not because Mike Brown is a good coach.
