I am looking at in season trades for the cavs, looking at teams we will have a 90% chance of not trading with (two team trades, true we dont have really any pieces for a three team trade really either)

Celtics, Bulls, Pistons, Heat, Nets, Knicks, Bucks, Magic, Rockets, Lakers, Grizzlies, T'Wolves, Trail Blazers, Spurs

Teams 70% Chance we wont make a trade with:

Bobcats, Hawks, Pacers, Mavs, Nuggets, Hornets

Teams 60% chance we wont make a trade with:

76ers, Raptors, Wizards, Suns, Thunder, Kings, Jazz

Teams 50% chance we wont make a trade with:

Warriors,  Clippers

We all know Jackson is being shopped, but i think guys like Davis, Camby, Kaman, also may be shopped from the clippers if the season starts, off badly, but as of right now, the cavs dont have many options to make trades this season, so ist a good 80% chance they dont make a trade, and if they do make a trade, its a 90% chance it will be a small minor trade, nothing that will get front page news, unless we are not winning games like we planned and Shaq gets traded, but i dont see that right now

Personally I believe the Pacers are about 40-50% gonna be the ones to trade with us.

Come Feb.

- The Pacers realize they wont make the playoffs again, they are gonna want to take on a expiring contract for Troy Murphy(contract ends summer of 2011) and just maybe we swoop up on him and get a deal done becuz he is just what we need. I dont see Indiana in the playoffs. Theres at least 9 better teams then the Pacers(on paper) in the Eastern Conference(Cavs, Celtics, Magic, Hawks, Heat, Wizards, Raptors, Sixers, Bulls) maybe even Bobcats thrown into that mix.

who knows really? which teams that are just over the cap or luxury tax that might need to dump salaries if their season tanks. If Shaq doesn't fit and we hover around .500 like Suns did, then I can see Ferry using his huge expiring contract to re-stock the line-up... seeing as we cannot afford to do that through free agency.

  1. if Clippers are lottery bound anyway, what is the point hanging onto Kaman or Baron Davis?
  2. if Bobcats are out of play-offs by deadline, they could put Chandler, Diaw or Wallace on the block.
  3. Utah certainly will be looking to get something for Boozer by deadline
  4. Warriors obviously will take best deal for Jackson
  5. Indiana might unload some of their high piriced veterans like Murphy if they are out of any race
  6. Hornets could be forced to blow up the team if the economy stays bad and they don't make play-offs
  7. Timberwolves are looking to trade Rubio's rights
  8. Nets might be looking to dump a salary or two if their season tanks... maybe someone like Yi will become available
  9. Bucks always seem to shop Redd around every deadline
  10. Sixers could decide to dump either Delambert or Brand if their season tanks
  11. Kings might decide to move Udrich or Noccioni also

but really anyone could make an unpredictable move... who knows for sure?

Well also i was looking at if teams where dumping could we trade, and honestly we have very little when it comes to guys will trade, so its very unlikely we make a trade for a name player, it probably will be a small trade, like we did for flip murray years ago

I agree that it's unlikely Ferry will shake it up if the team stays on a title chase... but if he can make a deal at the deadline for someone who put us over the top... then Z in a buy-out return for whoever needs a cash dump to get under luxury tax is possible... especially if Shaq is healthy and able to close out the season playing full games.

... but if Shaq struggles and the team is only .500 at the deadline, then Ferry has an obligation to trade Shaq's expiring for as much talent as he can get in return from one of the franchises that need salary relief .....................hopefully whatever happens leads to Lebron staying for multiple championships.

I wonder if this was the plan all along. Shaq will be a huge trading piece to some of these teams with money problems. If we can work a deal with shaq or Z or whoever and get a Rudy Gay, Troy Murhpy, or other young 2nd tier player, we'd be looking pretty good. I think we should go after Gay and try to get Marc Gasol too...am I dreaming?

Two trades we will make...

Cavs will acquire Leon Powe and Danny Green...

Well, you get the idea.

Id love to get Gay and Gasol, im not exactly 100% sure where gay fits on the team if we get him, since he really is a SF,  but what is nice is when gay was drafted he was compared to pippen, but i dont think memphis should trade gasol and gay, they should build around those two to be quite honest, we would have an insane team if we got those two

no way memphis trades both Gasol and Gay... maybe Gay if they get desperate... but even then they'll need something of near equal value in return.
