Heated CP3 wants to win? Bring him here!

Ok I know Chris paul is a franchise once a generation talent type of player. New orleans would be CRAZY to trade him to cleveland. Right?

Hornets arent going anywhere. They will not beat portland, spurs, denver, or Lakers. Hornet's manager is trying to trim money. Pauls extension from 2008 is only 3 years.  lots of free agents this summer...Cleveland has all the assets hornets need for REBUILDING. A win NOW mentality for chris paul is NOT interested in rebuilding with the hornets. within 3 years of Pauls extended contract, can you honestly say he would have a chance to win a RING with a cheap management and a lackluster roster? its his fifth season and he thinks he deserves to be up there in the finals.

Rondo might have pushed PAUL's anger much futher in the edge. "you will never win a ring" said rondo to Pauls face. Its true; Paul will never win a ring if he decides to stay back in New Orleans. He will never get out of the western conference with Lakers guarding the door. He needs to move, and if he wants to NOT EVEN NEW ORLEANS CAN STOP HIM.

New orleans wants to trim money. obviously they are not in a WIN NOW MODE. What kind of team wants to win and doesnt wanna spend money? Heck even the SPURS spend money this season to WIN NOW before duncan and ginobli exprires. For the first time in years SPURS are over the luxury tax. What does chris paul get to win now? an undersized center in okafor. He will never get out of the western conference or in his own division even.

So the solution is simple. Give the HORNETS what they want. Give them Money saving moves. Trade chris paul to us for expiring contracts, picks, and any player they want other than lebron James and Varejao and west. Trade Eyengas rights. trade whatever. Get him here and get him here NOW so he can shut RONDOs' and Celtics mouths up and get his RING.

For Hornets, there is not much they can do if PAUL wants to leave. there is not much they can do with their roster to trump over the western powers. They cant win with PAUL alone. They can save tons of money and REBUILD next year with the cap space they going to get from expiring contracts from cleveland.

This trade of CP3 to cleveland on the other hand would ROCK THE **** out of the eastern conference...and the west too. Paul is just what we need in our team. Cleveland is just what PAUL needs. Mike BROWN needs Chris paul to make his offense not look like **** during crunch time. Lebron needs paul So he can finally be alleviated from all the pressure of winning it all by himself which ofcourse he cant do.

Center?, Varejao, Lebron, West, Chris Paul.

a dream? i think its very possible. all we need to do is make paul want to come here! Heck, maybe we can bring david west too...or okafor.

Yes, Yes, because every team wants to trade franchise players for garbage.  He's got 3 yrs left, he's not going anywhere.  If hes unhappy its his own fault for resigning.  I perasonally love him, he is a class act from my Favorite college team Wake.  If he were here it'd be an instant championship, but it aint happening friend.

do you watch basketball that wouldnt work paul cant carry a team if bron is hurt he's barely carrying his team. i think  D Wade is a better pick up and the problem we had before was a height problem dont get smaller get bigger and stronger and my squad would be Lebron Wade Bosh West and Varejao that is a championship team gritty athletic strong and fast thats a good team

your kidding right?? first of all that would greatly be over the lxury tax. second of all you THREE ballhogs on the same team alright?? im not calling lebron a ballhog ok fine i am but he does FEEL the need to score, so do wade and bosh. if we would pick up chris paul, somehow, it will be the greatest thing to ever happen to cleveland since they drafted lebron

Our best bet is to wait for the offseason of 2010 and banking on that Lebron stays to sign someone (Bosh)

we have no extra room for free agency dude.... cap is dropping. We can afford LeBron, a MLE and (if we don't use it this season on someone like Daniels) the BAE... that's it. The only way to add another major piece is through trade.

as far as this thread subject goes: Only if Hornets are tanking this season, and are financially in desperate measures to get under luxury tax... and only if Chris Paul forces a trade... then we might be able to get Paul if we also take back Peja in the deal... this would likely cost us Shaq and Mo.

Correct.  Our best bet at free agency comes in 2011, not 2010.  We have come contracts coming off that year, and players like Tony Parker, David West, and Carmelo among others are all free agents.

Peja does have a nasty contract, but I would be willing to sacrifice that if it got us the only thing we could want to spend that money on- a second superstar for the team.  Losing Shaq would take away our Dwight Howard roadblock, but I think adding Paul would give us enough firepower to account for that.

Also, this may have been where the OP got his idea, but theres an article on ESPN's NBA page on this exact topic.  It's the first part of daily dime.
