Just wondering aloud... Is there a way the Cavs could pry David West from the Hornets? trade idea Big Z & Delonte West -for- David West & James Posey
Keep in mind Delonte West is basically an expiring contract. He's only owed $500,000 next year if waived before August 3rd, 2010. He would never have to report to the Hornets if they didn't want him there. They could buy him out for the rest of this season + the $500,000 and he'd be done. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on the Delonte situation. I use this website for my contract info www.storytellerscontracts.info/resources... |

I think there is a great chance that this could happen. People need to realize that in order for something like this to happen the Cavs are going to have to trade Z. The group of guys that they have in NO just isnt working, its time to move on. I could see the Hornets looking to dump salary. If the Cavs included Z then the Hornets could buy him out and he could resign with the Cavs. I think we are going to see alot of teams looking to move quality guys to save some money. Cavs need to take advantage of this and Z's contract. |

Posey has 3 more years left so they would love to get rid of that. |

I dont know if the cavs would trade west and/or the hornets would want him with his problems. But maybe z and someone else because the hornets definatley need a big man. There tallest guy is emaka. GReat Idea West and posey would help a TON |

This isn't about what the Hornets need on the court it's just clearing up space for them. Big Z is an expiring and Delonte is basically an expiring. If they continue to stink this season I don't see why they wouldn't want to go this route. |

I would do it if Hornets buy out Delonte and Z so that we can re-sign them. I don't wanna give up on Delonte even tho he's going through issues... but if he needed to be away for a while and could re-sign when he's cleared... perfect. |

David West is my favorite PF in the game, such a monster. Plays better D than Z with twice the offense. If we could pull off something like that, I'd just about cry tears of joy. Because if you guys haven't realized, I don't think Z should even be on the floor, let alone with Shaq.

i hate to admit that i like this idea lol but i do. but with the Hornets just firing their coach, i'm not sure what other moves they'd be willing to make right now.

great idea osiris...of course that could only happen if the hornets continue to struggle and they are out of the playoff picture come february. so let's hope that they keep losing
