Trade for one of the three New Orleans stars

the Hornets are going to be rebuilding very soon. CP3 is not happy there, there is a rumor of Okafor going to the Kings, and they fired there coach the gm is now the head coach. Package Z, maybe Delonte, and maybe DJ for a guy like David West or Okafor. Lets face it, Z is not going to get it done and we have a great opportunity to pick up a guy the caliber of a David West at the deadline. Even a trade for Chris Paul is somewhat possible if he does not want to be there anymore.

yeah i said we should go after West a week or so ago.  I cited the direction of New Orleans in my post, and over the last few weeks on the forums.  my idea can be found here:  www.cavfanatic.com/go/thread/view/3816/2...

I dont really think New Orleans knows what they want to do.  They said how they wanted to shed cap space coming into this season, then they went and traded for Okafor who has a huge contract over the next 5 years.  Now they are trying to trade Okafor to the Kings... They are definitely a confused franchise at this point.

However, its safe to say that Chris Paul is NOT an option.  He isn't going anywhere unless he DEMANDS a trade and i dont think he has much of a say right now since he will be out for the next 3-4 weeks.

when you are rebuilding, you need young guys and short contracts. Z has a contract of about 10 mil. done after this season. Delonte has a contract of about 4.5 mil. for this year and next and DJ is a young guy they can potentially develop into a nice player. I just want the Cavs to improve and a possible deal with either New Orleans or the Clippers for Kamam would be a big step.

he might demand a trade the way this franchise is being run. and we need front court depth more than backcourt depth because lets be honest, no matter how good JJ is playing now, do you really think he will contribute 20 points in the conference or nba finals?

Okafor's name is being thrown out there, who knows why NO wanted to take on that contract in their financial woes anyway. Idk how I feel about bringing him in, he's really just a more athletic Varejao which would make for a solid young frontcourt but really no big scoring options for our future.

A possibility would be to get involved in a three team deal with Sacramento to try and grab some young talent. Personally, I would love to see Donte Greene develop into a stretch 4, and Spencer Hawes who can also shoot well for a big man. If they took in Okafor, they might be willing to part with Hawes.

Its the mistake on the lake to you but this is my home

Thats true, the only team that trades their franchise away years before their contract is up is the Indians.
