Let me be the first to say sorry to Danny Ferry for ranting that he was incompitent of getting anything done. To get a guy that averages 17 points and 6 assists for a guy that never plays and just a solid contributor is baffling. I mean, the guy is only 26 years old. There are soooo many good things about this trade. My personal favorite is that we still have Wally, ESnow, AV, Allred, Kinsey (who we may want to keep), and Thomas coming off of the books so we can still make a splash next offseason. We are also now extremely deep in the backcourt, unless of course this a prelude to a D West s&t (Another Expiring if he takes the qualifying offer) What is our new starting lineup? Does Wally, Boobie, or West start at the two? The way I see it:

-Mo/ D West
-Wally/ Boobie/ Pavs (I like Boobie far more than Wally, but Boobie is lethal off of the bench)
-Bron/ Pavs/ Kinsey
-Ben/ JJ
-Z/ Andy

Also congrats to Bob Finnan for being the only person to report this before it happened. Hoopsworld had something, but nothing that Finnann didn't write

He did a good job with this trade for sure. I won't bow down to him just yet, he has to get one more guy. If he can get that guy before the season starts or before the deadline, than i'll join. Good start getting Mo though.

Nice thread, Rob.  I agree.  Although at times it has been tough being a Ferry supporter, he almost always delivers.

He reminds me of a UPS man I had a few years ago.  I saved up some money and decided to buy a PowerBook G4.  I went with refurbished, since it was a better value.  The UPS man was supposed to deliver it on Saturday, but I was out of town and missed it.  As a result, I had to wait all day long on Monday and I was convinced he wouldn't arrive.  I had it shipped to my parent's house because they live in a secluded area and I didn't fear it getting stolen there.  Anyway, they weren't around on Saturday, so Monday it was.

Monday came and I waited, and waited and waited.  With every hour, I was convinced that I made a special trip to my parent's house for nothing.

Sure enough, the comptuer came later in the day.  And the best part was that it came with 20 more GB of HD than I paid for and 500 more MB of ram than I paid for.  It was an added bonus.

At time, it is tough waiting through Ferry's patience.  I hate hearing the word "continuity" during that.  But sure enough, Ferry almost always delivers and he gets maximum value for little to nothing.  We got Mo Williams for expiring contracts.  That's absolutely insane.

I am very curious to see what he pulls off.  I'm sure he's not done.

Ever thus to deadbeats, Lebowski.

I also have to MOpologize for anything negative I've ever said about Ferry.  The man has simply got a very very good player for one big role player (I think Hickson is going to be good, so Smith was expendable) and a loud mouth has-been/never-was.  Even better, we've still got all of our very valuable expirings when February comes around if there is a trade that can be put together; otherwise, we've got a lot of dough coming off the books next summer which means we can go after some solid free agents.  Mo is just what this team needed: a solid point guard who can penetrate, create his own shot, and is not looking to be the star of this team.  I am extremely happy about this trade, and all I have left to say right now is:  Bring on Boston.

Thank you Danny Ferry.

I think once I may have said I wasnt pleased that Gilbert hired a GM with no expierience and a coach with no expierience which at the time I cant imagine was out of line but still, thankyou Danny.

I just hope if Mo Williams starts to struggle or gets hurt that people don't jump all over Ferry again. I've never bashed Ferry, but I've never been on the Ferry bandwagon (if it exists) either. His job isn't done until we have a roster that can win an NBA championship. Were close, but close isn't good enough. Lets see what else Ferry has up his sleeve.

I wont apologize until an offensive assistant is hired or MB is fired.

I also wont apologize because we are stuck with a guy who cant even make a layup at PF for 15 million a year over the next 2 years because Ferry went out and signed the great Larry Hughes, Donyell Marshall, and Damon Jones.

However, I applaud him for this deal and GIVE HIM A TON OF CREDIT for getting it done.

Its too bad those 3 turned into such bums. How funny is that? The 3 guys brought in that everyone thought were gonna be great and bring us a championship and help LBJ out so much are now gone.

Larry Hughes is STILL HORRIBLE

All I want is ONE championship.
