EAST 1. Boston 2. Cleveland 3. Detroit 4. Orlando 5. Miami 6. Philadelphia 7. Toronto 8. Washington
WEST 1. L.A. Lakers 2. New Orleans 3. Houston 4. Utah 5. San Antonio 6. Phoenix 7. Dallas 8. Portland
Of course when the playoffs come, standings mean nothing. My EARLY EARLY EARLY prediction for the finals next year is Cleveland over New Orleans. This will change, I'm sure. |

I didn't want to reply with a list on your forums, but I will do it here on my home court. I didn't think my positioning of the Pistons would go over too well over there. I got nothing but respect for you, though.
1. Boston (Champs, gotta knock them off) 2. Cleveland (maybe not yet, but after the trade deadline they will be) 3. Phili 4. Toronto 5. Orlando (4 and 5 are interchangeable depending on how healthy Toronto is). 6. Detroit (Joe Dumars threw his team under the bus and hasn't made any positive addition via draft, FA or trade). 7. Washington (Could go higher if they stay healthy and play defense). 8. Milwaukee (I was tempted to put Atlanta in here, but I like Scott Skiles and the off season moves they made).
1. Houston (Assuming they stay healthy, they are the team to beat out west). 2. LA Lakers (Unless they have a finals hangover). 3. New Orleans (They have some nice role players and an MVP caliber player). 4. San Antonio (I can't count them out as long as TD is playing at a high level). 5. Portland (This team is going to be scary-good in a few years) 6. Utah Jazz (I've never really been sold on them, but they are definitely a playoff team). 7. Phoenix Suns (They still have Nash and Amare. That's worth something). 8. Dallas Mavericks (Their window is closing fast).
Ever thus to deadbeats, Lebowski.

"No Offenese" As you know I repect you, and your opinion .. but I putting Detroit at 6 is WAY too low for a 59 wins team!
As you know we made it ot he ECF 6 times straight. 50+ wins for 7 seasons straight! I don't look for that to change now, and a big reason to that is our bench! They're a year better, and I don't know if you watched Rodney Stuckey in the Playoffs last season .. but this guy gonna be a big time star in this league. It's just a matter of time. And you have Max, Amir, Bynum, Herrmann, Afflalo, and the rest of them.
You also put Orlando on top of Detroit. I team that can barely win a game against us. Their team is all about Dwight Howard, and we've done an AMAZING job against him.
Toronto, I see why you put them there, and obviously they did get better .. but I still think we will finish ahead if them! Im not buying Philly yet. I know they got better, and they might finish in a higher seed than last year. But to me they have to prove to me that they can compete with Detroit, Boston, Cleveland.
Now Cleveland, I got no problem with them being at number 2! Your team is getting better, and you guys FINALLY deserve some respect for what you did to Detroit in the past, and for what you did to Boston. You guys proved that you can play with anybody, and like you know you have LeBRON JAMES!
I also got no problem with Boston at number one. They're the defending champs, and they deserve to be there.
I agree on what you said about the Pistons though. Im with you with that. Joe didn't make a move that will get us over the top YET! With our current roster we'll not gonna get it done again! Yes we might reach the ECF, but not the Finals! But am not worried. I trust Joe Dumars, and what I love about him is his patience. I know he wll make a deal to help our team .. maybe not now but he will and am sure about that!
I'll rank the Pistons in no lower than the 3 seed. Remember we're a VERY good regular season team. |

Trust me, I was hesitant to put Detroit that low. They have a lot of talent and their youth is very solid. My concern with them is their status emotionally. I think that their frame of mind is very damaged. They have all of the talent in the world, but for some reason they couldn't untap it when it mattered. Also, they are all 4 years older since they won the championship so they cannot rely on talent and chemistry alone.
Putting them behind Orlando probably was a mistake, I'll concede that. I forgot about the ownage that Detroit has over Orlando in the past few years.

You're right .. our player get overconfident real quick, don't respect their opponents, and they think they can come back and win no matter what!
And what really kills me is that they NEVER learn from their mistakes! They keep on doing the same mistakes over, and over again! For example our series against Boston in the ECF:
We come and play an amazing game in Game 2. We win on the road .. thinking that our team won't blew it this time, and we got this. But in Game 3 THEY DON'T SHOW UP!! Why? Because Boston were like 0-7 on the road, and they thought there is no way Boston will win in Detroit. I mean, how can Boston win in Detroit if they couldn't win in Cleveland, and Atlanta?
^^That's exactly how they think. This attitude of theirs destroyed them! If you look at it .. they could've dominated the league for like four years, and get at least two more 'ships! Joe Dumars put this great team together, and they got all the talent in the world, but they keep on underachieving.
I hope for that to change under Curry. He's a no excuses guy, and he will make sure all of our players give it all they got! You know it's funny! I was laughing when we lost in Game 6 to Boston! I didn't know what to say, or what to do. I was just laughing like I knew they will fail again because of their attitude. They need to realize that teams won't just give it to them. They have to fight and give it all they got to win again.
They need to realize that. They're not little kids. Most of them have kids, and families. But still, I'll love them no matter what, and I'll support them no matter what. Hopefully they'll wake up.
Probably this is going to be their "LAST CHANCE." together! |
