When Lebron gets older

Does people think that Lebron could possibly develop into a 4 as he gets older? I feel he will become a 4 because there is no way he can stay as agile, as mobile, as athletic, or as fast with his body size and weight as he gets older. He might even put on some more weight. But I think if he works on it, he could develop a good post game and become a solid 4. There is no way nature will allow him to stay the wing player he is right now. Age, weight, and size will have to catch up with him eventaully.

But he could become a Karl Malone player then.

Very good question.  The proverbail ball is in his court.  He plays like he has an alergic reaction to posting up, but common sense and science tells us that he can't play like he does now when he is in his early-to-mid thirties.

I think he will go down in history as one of the best players in the game.  However, if he wants to go down in history as the best ever, he needs to win championships and develop a post game.  If he has a metamorphosis later in his career and he plays the 4 spot primarily and is still putting up great numbers, he will go down in history as the best ever for being able to transform his game to fit his body.

Ever thus to deadbeats, Lebowski.

I think it was Bil Walton who said LeBron is a major knee injury to being a Karl Malone type player. Now thats saying something.

If he works on it, theres no doubt that he could be a dominate Power Forward. He's got the body size and strength. Heck, he'd go from a below average shooter for a wing player, to a versatile big who can shoot.

Imagine how much his fg percentage would go up if he learned to post up right now.  He could destroy down low too.  I am hoping the mo trade allows him to develop this part of his game.  He can jump so high he could shoot over anyone.

He can do it, if he wants to .. but first he have to work on his "One-on-one" defense.

It's shame to see a guy with his size, and strength taking 3's instead on posting up, and taking it to the paint. I have the same problem with Rasheed. He could dominate in the post .. but instead he goes, and shoot jumpers!

think of it this way, 10 yrs ago we woulda said there was no way a player of his size could do the things he's doing now period! we where in awwwh of a 7'0 garnett playing like a 4...lol. the game is evolving and so are the players, he'll be fine!

Of course he'll be fine. But I'm just saying, if Lebron developed a post game, imagine how much better he could be.

i feel like this is the one part of his game that is lacking.. besides FT shooting.. if he can do this it might even extend his career a few years

Rasheed is just frustrating period. This is just coming from someone who likes basketball, not a fan of the Pistons, but still just shakes his head. At a talent standpoint, he's as good as Duncan and KG. He just doesn't strive on greatness like those players. Sometimes he doesn't even 'feel' like playing in general. Barkley mention this as well. Instead he's just a good player.

Lebron should develop a post game, because that's where he'll be later in his career. Once his speed diminishes and he gets even heavier. He won't get away playing on the wing at a older age. He'll have to develop his game on the post, primarily.

I don't think Lebron is against doing this, we've chose not to evolve his game in that aspect. Partly because he can't play that way right now, not with the role he had.  Being the facilitator offensively. Now with Mo, who knows. I hope to see more play from Lebron out of the post this year. I've BEGGED the cavs to hire someone like Larry Nance to come in and work with him and our bigs in general on that aspect of their game. Lebron's actual footwork in the post is horrible. It's something that takes a lot of time, and work to master properly. Right now, he can just overpower someone who's he clearly stronger than. Once you put someone Lebron size, or bigger on him, he's awful. It's something that will take time for him to master.
