If Lebron decided to sign a contract this summer and not 2010 what will our payroll look like?  Would it still be the same as you predicted or will it be less or more?

If LeBron signed a contract extension this summer, his salary for 2010/11 would be $17.1 million and our payroll for 2010/11 would be:

2010/11
1. James: 17.1
2. Gibson: 4.0
3. West: 4.5
4. Hickson: 1.3
5. Jackson: 0.9
6. Williams: 9.3
7. 2009 first round pick: 1.2
8. 2009 second round pick: 0.8
9. 2010 first round pick: 1.1
10. 2010 second round pick: 0.5
11. ????
12. ????
13. ????
14. ????
15. ????
Total: (40.7)
>
Salary Cap (estimated): 60
Luxury Tax Limit (estimated): 73
MLE (estimated): 6.0
BAE (actual): 2.08
>
Note that we could have about $19.3 million cap space in the summer of 2010 - assuming we did not pick up a long term contract (such as Vince Carter) and that we did not sign Andy to a long term contract.

So I read through everything, though I still could not find the Cavs 08/09 cap room. Maybe I missed it.

*The Cavs are destined for greatness in the 09-10 season.

*3 Cavs players will be named to the All-Star team.
-Lebron, Shaq, and Mo.

*Cavs will go 65-17

*If everything goes right, we will win a championship.

*Then LeBron signs a new deal with Cleveland.

*And we win 2 more titles down the road.

*Good luck Cavs, and cheers to us finally achieving our "One Goal" Which is to "win a ring for the king"

2008/09:
Guaranteed Contracts:
1. Wallace: 14.5
2. James: 14.4
3. *Szczerbiak: 13.0
4. Ilgauskas: 10.8
5. *Snow: 7.3
6. Varejao: 5.8
7. Williams: 8.4
8. Pavlovic: 4.5
9. Gibson: 3.7
10. Hickson: 1.3
11. Tarence Kinsey: 0.8
12. West: 3.9 (guess)
13. Jackson: 0.4 (guess)
14. Lorenzen Wright: 0.8**
15.Jawad Williams: 0.4 (not guaranteed)

Total:90.0

*( expiring contracts: 20.3)
>
Salary Cap (actual): 58.68
Luxury Tax Limit (actual): 71.15
MLE (actual): 5.585
BAE (actual): 1.91

Cap room = salary cap minus team salary = 58.68 - 90.0 = (minus) 31.32 million

Cap room = salary cap minus team salary = 58.68 - 90.0 = (minus) 31.32 million

Dang $31 million is a lot of money to be spending. Thanks for the help Golfer, I'll have to remember that.

What I noticed is even with the expirings this off-season, we still will be over the cap by about 10 million. Hopefully both Dans work together to fix this debt before the 2010 season.
