I like the trade. HAwes would be a good backup for Z for now and Douby is a nice shooter. Salmons would just be a guy on the bench but I guess you have to make the money match up. |

This is a trade that I think both teams would hesitate to make. The Cavs would be rolling the dice on Hawes being an NBA-caliber big man (still a big if), and the Kings would be giving up on two young players that they are hoping to develop in exchange for a guy who will be a free agent after this season in Varejao, and a guy who is an even bigger question mark than Hawes right now in Pavlovic.
I think the Kings would be willing to move Salmons for Pavlovic just to shave a year off their contract obligations, but that's the kind of deal that you make mid-season, not during the Summer.
I also wouldn't be shocked if Brad Miller became a Cavalier at the deadline if the team needs a push and he's the best option available. Remember you heard that here first.

Wasn't Q.Douby who everyone on CMB wanted to draft a few years ago? I think it was the same draft we got Shannon Brown in, but I might be mistaken.
