i would take rasho nesterovic or fyre to back up Z.....rasho may come very very cheap & he is a solid back-up for Z

but what type of big do we need? a big to back up Z or a decent pf???

Probably both. Ben and Z should only get close to 20 minutes a game in the regular season to save them for playoffs. With AV getting 25 minutes. We need someone to contribute another 20-25 minutes with scoring ability.  That leaves JJ getting between 6-11 minutes a game depending on if its clean-up minutes.

If Ben and Z can stay rested the whole year getting about 20 minutes a game, their respective games in the playoffs could be the deciding factors if they can go 25-30 a game when it counts.

I would first work on getting a PF that can score Big Ben is good and all but just on D and we have a decent back-up in AV at center for Z.  JJ might become good who knows but I would much rather get a good scoring PF before getting a back-up for Z because we can use AV there.

wow... We could only possibly get like half the people on that list, and of that half, maybe 1 or 2 or 3 are realistic.  Do you really think we can get Rasheed Wallace for a guy who is on the border of a starter and a bench player?

If JJ Hickson didn't own life at summer league I'd say we should go after Brandan Wright.  It still probably wouldn't be too bad of an idea, but he's only 6'9 and plays PF.  I think we need to focus on a even bigger big that could back up Z.  Ideal situation would be to trade for a young guy that could back him up for the next year or two and then slide into the starting role.  Unfortunately, talented bigs don't grow off trees.

I like Wright a lot to. I have seen him listed at 6-9 and 6-10, if he is closer to the 6-10 part of that, and got on a good lifting program to add some strength to his frame, he would be pretty nice to put beside JJ for the future. But as of right now, he definitely isn't the ideal center to be guarding some of the bigs in the league. His potential and athleticism would be amazing to have though. Just not sold on him being able to play center.

Btw...

Bargnani is definitely not a center.  Power forward at most.  He might even see some minutes at SF this year, since they got J. O'neal.

Right, that's what I'm saying.  Actually, I remember back when all those trade rumors with GS were being mentioned, I was over on their boards and some people were saying that they were thinking about giving him some PT at SF as well.  I've saw some videos, and he really does have exceptional ball-handling skills for a big guy.
