I gotta say this thread is off base.

  1. The Cavs are not actively looking to trade Delonte right now.  With two PG's that are both likely to miss 15 games a year, and only two SF's and a undrafted min salary free agent for the #2 spot, the Cavs still have plenty of minutes available to keep West off the bench and on the floor.
  2. Even if they were looking to trade him, it would be hard because of the BYC trading rules.  West would have to be bundled with another contract and it is unlike that the Cavs could get a BYC player back in return.
  3. Cavs are currently doing workouts for vets that are willing to take minimum salary and understand they probably will sit on the bench a lot unless there is an injury if they sign with Cleveland.  Lorenzen Wright worked out for the team for example.   He'd be the 6th big man on the team.

Sorry to the OP, but I had to edit the title.  It was very misleading.  If anyone thinks the Cavs can get Andrew Bynum for Delonte West, they are wrong.  Also, the salaries do not match up for many of these players.

I don't mind having this thread because it is a list of which teams have which bigs, but to allure to the fact that the Cavs can get most o these guys for Delonte West is not true.

I like a nice long rigorous factual list but this one is unnecessarily restricted to centers.   I.E., David Lee is missing.   Ben can easily play C and really already does, given his range & movement.....he used to play kindof a PF but that's history now.

Its easy to see here why rumors have Ferry talking to Sacramento.

if ferry could aquire curry and lee we would be unstoppable. i agree with you that curry isn't a defensive specialist but look at wally&co they learned a lot under mike brown, and curry definitely has the conditions to play good defense (athleticism, weight, size....), plus he's a BEAST on offense exactly what we need a guy you can give the ball and who scores consistently (curry averages 55% fg for his career). lebron's dreams would come true if he gets a guy you can give the ball in the low post and who can score. also i think we can include lee in a deal, he's a great varejao in my opinion a guy who does all the things varejao can do but a lot better (i think he could be a solid 16/11 guy when he starts--> that's amazing)

Theres nothin more Id like than Lee and Curry. But I just dont see Ferry doing that unless he traded Varejao away too. Ferry wouldnt make JJ our 6th big man.

But to be honest I wouldnt care whether Mike Brown turned Curry into a defensive stopper or not. The fact is that in our team-orientated defensive system, Curry would be fine as long as he put in the effort (which he would do on a team that is actually going somewhere).

If a deal could be worked out where we give up Ben or Varejao and get Curry and Lee I'd go crazy man. I just dont see that happening. I think Curry's contract would limit what we can do in 2010.

But just in terms of what they could do, I think adding Curry and Lee would make us the best team in the east.

that wouldn't just make us the best team in the east my friend....but you're right curry's contract could be a dealbreaker. but i think even if we aquire him we would have enough cap space to get a great free agent (amare....) in 2010 and resign lebron who would have 2 rings till than Laughing
