Hopefully J.J. Hickson will develope into a threat on the post. If that were the case the cavs would have the players to run the triangle. Though I know Mike Brown has no clue what the Triangle Offense is, so therefor, it is nearly impossible for the cavs to run the Triangle.

You know that? Speaking of, I highly doubt that most people who want the Cavs to run the Triangle Offense even know what it is. They just want the Cavs to run it because it's an offense with a catchy name.

We played the Lakers twice last season and held them under their average PPG both times so I think that Mike Brown has at least a basic understanding of the Triangle Offense. I'm willing to bet that there are fewer than 10 people on this board that understand even the basics of the Triangle Offense.
Jose Calderon will finally be recognized as a Top 3 PG in the league this season.

You are totally right. This game relies on really great passing. That is lacking since people hand off on our team outside the arc. Lebron would prob have to play power forward unless Hickson's passing is really good. Z is prob not fast enough to play the triangle. Shaq was still really fast when the Lakers used this effectively. It would also require that the offense actually moved on our team as opposed to our offensive game of "Frozen Statues" haha

THANKS! I was in the same boat as you. I never really analyzed what I was watching in the MJ era (too young), and I have only seen a handful of LA games. Plus, I don't really watch college ball, either. You gotta go to the 4 links at the bottom of the page if you want to know the basic mechanics. I know it's just a rudimentary beginning, but it will really help me when I'm watching a real game.

The triangle offense takes players/teams at least an entire season to learn. Not only that but you've got to teach the coaching staff the offense. It isn't just 3 guys standing around to form a triangle. There is a reason that Phil Jackson is the only coach in the league to exclusively use the triangle offense.
We run a lot of aspects of the Triangle currently, just understand that Z plays the role of the 4 and Ben Wallace is the 5... As far as attributes and court position.
I still say we played a triangle style offense all (regular) season.

most of us just know that it was designed to use what the defence gives you, that it works, and that it was a way to stop the jordan rules from being effective
