haha,mike brown w/ an offense.lol

mike brown is not the one whose to going to implement it. we will hire an assistant coach specialize in offense.

Trust me, I read many articles about the Cavs.  I listen on the radio, I listen to press conferences and Mike Brown's radio show.  I follow the Cavs closely, and nothing has given me or anyone the impression that the Cavs will hire an "offensive assistant."  Actually,  everything has given me the impression that it isn't happening.

In other words, do not assume that will happen, because it is not in the Mike Brown era.

To take that a bit further Danny Ferry and Mike Brown both get visibly upset when reporters ask them about the possibility of hiring an offensive "coordinator".  It was really a big deal for them when they sent Mike Brown to Europe last offseason.

Also, I think you have to give Mike Brown the chance to do something with an actual PG before you can pass the final judgement on him.  Our most effective lineup over the past few seasons had Larry Hughes playing PG.  I don't care who you are, creating an effective offensive system from that is going to be difficult.

Jose Calderon will finally be recognized as a Top 3 PG in the league this season.

Thank you.  I have been saying that for the longest time.  Let's give Mike Brown a chance to redeem himself offensively with a real PG.  People are just so used to complaining about the offense that they don't really look at the crux of the problem, and that is the completely lackluster roster this team has had in the MB era.

I am excited to see how the Cavs look on offense this year.  I am guessing that the PPG average will the best of Mike Brown's short career.

Has anyone ever thought that problem isn't necessarily scheme, but execution?

Missing wide open jumpers created by the stand and watch Lebron offense isn't a problem of scheme but execution.

Missed layups are not flaws in a gameplan, but errors in execution.

I'm one of the guys that actually think Mike Brown has done pretty well with what he has.  I would rather have a coach that works with the tools he has at his disposal to win than one who makes excuses as to why he can't get the job done.

I agree.  You should check out what I just posted in the "offensive coordinator" thread.

I did.  I was actually responding to that while you were writing this I guess.  Good post.

i posted something similar to this in the old forum, lastyear and I agree with you we should try to run this.  Before it didnt seem like we had players smart enough to run it.

Well I may not agree that the Triangle is what we need, I certainly have been saying that we need a dominate low block player as our next piece.  I dont know who would be ideal but I think that if we landed one upper echelon PF we would be on our way to a memorable season, even if we have to wait till the trade deadline to aquire said PF.

Technically, we have one.  Mike Malone is the assistant coach who specializes on the offensive side of the ball.  Whether or not he's any good is different.

Too bad Mark Price is not available...

if Mike Brown started implimenting the triangle offense right now, we'd have a lower scoring offense for about 3 years

The two threads I read today were this one, and the Eric Snow thread.  So, my question is this:  Has E. Snow ever ran the Triangle?  He seems pretty smart.  If he ran if for a few years, I don't see why he couldn't teach it.

The triangle offense takes players/teams at least an entire season to learn.  Not only that but you've got to teach the coaching staff the offense.  It isn't just 3 guys standing around to form a triangle.

There is a reason that Phil Jackson is the only coach in the league to exclusively use the triangle offense.

We run a lot of aspects of the Triangle currently, just understand that Z plays the role of the 4 and Ben Wallace is the 5...  As far as attributes and court position.
