I think you should lose Mod Status, because it doesn't give a good impression of the board when our mods are completely clueless.
I'm not sure how criticizing a guy instead of excusing him for holding out makes me clueless. Besides, you're taking this conversation a little too far right now by calling me "clueless." You need to not verbally attack members of this site. Not rookies, not veterans and certainly not mods. Besides, I did not say that Sasha was garbage last year. I said that he was worse than awful last year and that he was even worse two years ago. He's a solid bench player, and that is it.
nobody excused him for the hold out, that was his fault. however the validity of the point stands that he was not in playing shape when he came back and his play showed, when a guy isn't 100% playing against NBA players, you're really going to notice the difference. and why can't I call a poster clueless when they're positing nonsense and trying to pass it off as a legitimate post.
Dawg -- because it is an opinion. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't give someone a right to not share that opinion. It's cliche probably, but this board (or any board) would be quite dull without any sort of differing opinions. Please try and be respectful when responding to someone else's opinion, regardless of how ridiculous etc it might seem to you.

I could not agree more! if he has another year like last year, he will not be arround... this guy makes me sooo mad during the season, he consistently cannot finish... I am really hoping he does some work on that during the off season. If he continues down the same path, he will not have a job in the NBA next year. This is not something that you want to say about a guy on your favorite team who plays a significant role. He has to improve, or he will not have a job. It's that simple. I don't care about his supposedly good defense or his supposed ability to drive to the hoop. He looked pretty bad two years ago, got his payday and came back like he doesn't care at all. I don't think we need to trade him just for the sake of trading him, but if he doesn't look half-decent by February, he will be traded as an expiring contract.

Dawg, Evidently you do not understand the purpose of a message board. It is a forum for people with the same interests and varying opinions to get together and speak with like-minded, yet different people. If you cannot handle my opinion without calling me names and questioning my intelligence, then I'm sorry for you.

Sasha is long and he can defend unlike if we take a Jr Smith type of player that doesnt defend at all. We need a balance team we have mo LB Z for our offense ben and sasha for our defense. Somehow i like our guard line up with or without S-jax if he is really coming here. but we need a offensive Big, when Z is on the bench who is there to score on the block? somehow i like bargnani (impossible to get) or darko the guy that was picked before melo a guy like that has a potential on the offensive end not necessarily to score but maybe to pass the ball though i heard he has a bad contract. And then LEbron would do the Rest. Yao is on top of my wish list by the way.

Is that supposed to be sarcastic? Because I'm not having the surgery and I still think he has potential (that was supposed to be funny sarcastic but there is only so much you can do on a message board to make the joke come out the way you intended it to.)

he has the potential to be a very good role player. the problem is he is not willing to take the job. Mayvbe he still thinks he should be the number 1option. One should always know his capabilities and limitations.

I think the problem with some people about Sasha is when "potential" comes up, some may actually assume that means star potential. Sasha is what Sasha does, Gumpify that. Sasha "should" know his role by now. I'm not sure he knew it last year. He was pressing the issue most of the time and it came off as......well we all saw what it came out as. IMO, Sashas potential is a "good" defensive player, decent outside shot, and on occasion provide an offensive burst against weaker teams. That is a good role for him, IF he can live up to it. Whether he can or not is yet to be seen and most think it will not happen as he regressed from the previous year. Having LeBron in the starting lineup beside you does cover up alot of someone elses game. I am hoping that he does live up to some of his potential this year. Lets face it, we don't have a "great" SG, but we do have a "nice" SG by committee. By trade deadline Pavs could be a sweetener in a deal to grab a "star" caliber SG if he shows he can produce. If he is kept out of any deal that brings someone in, then he provides a nice bench role player for us. There's too much to correct at one time. My opinion, SG should be on the back burner right now. Our frontcourt is in need of another C. Not a cleanup minute C, but one that can contribute up to 25 minutes a night and be productive. PF is okay with Ben, AV, JJ, Darnell. Z needs limited to 20 minutes a night during the reg. season so he can contribute big minutes in the playoffs.
