Any ideas to obtain a lottery pick in the next draft?

I was wondering if anyone here can think of any possible trades we can make to get a lottory pick in the next draft. Maybe a trade involving the right to swap picks with a team that we feal has a good chance of being a lottery team.

The main guy I want in the next draft is Demar DeRozan. He reminds me a lot of Lebron when Lebron was just coming out of highschool. With his jumpshot not yet developed, but has that elite level athleticism and SuperStar potential. He has the Prototype size for SG as well.

And I think Lebron maybe more willing to stay if he see's the potential of a dominant wing player to play along side for many years to come for a chance at a possible dynasty.

I'd like to start building up our team with great young talent as soon as possible just incase Lebron does leave. Because there's no way we're going to be a lottery team anytime soon with Lebron on our team and playing in the east. So the only way to get a high draft pick would be via trade.

I never said he was going to leave. I said he may be more willing to stay with a player like that, but it would still be good to have a great young talent to develop just incase Lebron does leave.

Obviously you dont trade the best player in the NBA unless you are 100% certain he's going to leave. Which is pretty much impossible to know for sure unless Lebron himself says so.

Except LeBron, we really don't have anything valuable enough for a lottery trade. Don't think anybody would be stupid enough to trade a lottery pick either...It would be nice though...

Im not talking about waiting until draft day to trade for a loterry pick because we'd have to give up a lot more. I was thinking about making a trade soon before the deadline which would include the right to swap picks with a team that we feal has a decent chance of being a lottery team this season.

The only way you get a lottery pick from someone is at the deadline from a team that really wants expirings for some reason.

Either that or you take on a really bad contract from the Knicks or someone like that.

You don't get draft picks for nothing.  We'd either have to give up a talented player that may or may not be replaced with a draft pick, or we have to take someone's garbage out for them.

I think there will be a good chance the Nuggets miss the playoffs this season. I'd love to make a decent trade with them that includes the rights to swap first rounders in the 09 draft.

A real long shot:

We trade Wally and AV (after Dec 5) to the Knicks for Zach Randolph, Jared Jeffries, and their 2009 (unconditional) first round pick.

Would you do it?  I wouldn't.

I would rather take my chances on getting a superstar (Bosh, Wade, Amare, Joe Johnson) by saving our cap space in 2010 - rather than gambling on a possible 2009 lottery pick (which could be as bad as #14) and by taking 2 very questionable players in Zach and Jeffries.
