Donyell Marshall would be a good fit here once again in my opinion.  He'd be decent as a backup F/C to score some points.  Not to mention, he would be dirt cheap and has team Chemistry.

I'm not saying he's great.  But I believe that he would fit well now that Joe is gone.

However, by not getting Marshall it really makes me think that we're going to be trading for a Big.

But who knows... It's so hard to say at this point.

I was always a Donyell Marshall fan. I appreciated the intagibles he brought to the team and his consistant positive attitude. I read an article recently that the Cavaliers were interested or talking with Juwan Howard. If we were really looking to pickup an extra big for backup purposes only I think Marshall would have been a nice option. He signed with Philly for a little over $1 million, I'm sure we could have offered the same. Donyell atleast knows our system and never seemed to have issues with the coaching staff or teammates.

The Cavaliers on the other hand were probably making a statement when they didn't pursue Donyell after he was waived. I think they didn't want to go back to him as if they were returning back to the Cavaliers of old. Donyell and Cavs parted ways, we appreciated his services while he was here, but now its time for the newer young blood to step in and take us to championship.

Good for 'Yell though. He went from being on a team that was at the bottom of the pit with a coach he had differences with to a team that actually coveted him before he was waived, and a team that has re-juvenated themselves in the East and are very capable of having a great season.

Thank you Philly! I was never tempted but others may have been. Donyell is a waste at this point in his career...his contributiosn would be minimal at best! He always looked so lost out on the floor...not our problem anymore!

I would have taken him back on the Cavs. We are looking for a 5th big right now, and most of our choices as far as free agency aren't anything to get excited about. Donyell would atleast know the system and defense and be able to fit right back in. Its not like he would be expected to be a main contributor again.

Honestly I wish Donyell would come back to Cleveland and host a weekly 'behind the scenes' interview show with some of the Cavaliers. He has a good personality to do that. It would be like the video below, just would include more players. I think the players would open up to Donyell and tell him a lot more things than they would ever let on to the media.
