I posted this in the rumor mill under the RFA thread. Figured I'd post in TT as well since their is a link that he is close to signing a deal. If its not relevant, mods please lock or whatever you feel necessary.

i mean ive never really watched or seen wright, but from what ive seen he can be a nice little addition for replacement for joe. we wont need him that much, but as long as we dont overpay him and he can contribute even the slighest bit to our team it will help us so much.

IT BEGINS!

THIS IS OUR YEAR CAV FANS!! RISE UP to your 2010 CHAMPS the CLEVLAND CAVALIERSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!

A replacement for DJII as well as insurance if JJ can't step up. I'll be dissapointed if JJ can't beat this guy out.

This sucks. My hopes for a championship just went WAY down. Virtually this means that our 4th big man will either be this stiff or JJ. If were trying to win a championship, that is not good. Not good at all.

We need to trade for a legitimate big man, not sign an older Dwayne Jones. Hopefully this is just for depth and we still make a trade.

I sure hope Ferry isnt hoping the perfect guy is there for a trade at the deadline, because that is highly unlikely. We need to get the team together before camp so they can gel.

Waiting for the deadline is a huge risk., IMO.

Larry Hughes is STILL HORRIBLE

If he is healthy and and back in shape, he will be a good pickup.

Isn't Jackie Butler still out there?

EDIT: No matter what, he will be better than DJ2

Lorenzen Wright is a solid veteran who can bang, rebound and defend. He can also score around the basket and is a strong finisher. I hope we land him, hes a very solid 4th big...which is all we are asking of him.

Is this the "veteran" "solid player" old stiff the Cavs sign every year that is completely overrated by fans going into the season?

The guy barely played last year on 2 really bad teams. He also shot 6-21 last year (.285%). Now I know that is a VERY SMALL amount of attempts, but for a "banger" and a big center, how is 6-21 even possible? Unless all those shots were just garbage jumpers at the end of a blowout or something.

I just wanna say please dont get excited like some did for David Wesley, because this guy will have the same impact Wesley did, which is none.

And if he takes away minutes from JJ, then wow I am gonna be pretty angry.

I can only speak for myself, but I am OK with this thread since there is a new link.

Another thing I am OK with is this deal.  It's a low-risk insurance policy.  Considering how pathetic the Cavs big men situation is, I am OK with Ferry signing any bigs that he can get.  You don't want to go into the season banking too much on a rookie.
