Decent pickup nothing major. Remember this is a guy who can play some Center as well. He pretty much replaces DJ2 who was nothing more than a big body.
I can still see us trying to snag a better option at backup Center.
Some guys are acting like signing Wright means were trying to have him be a starter.
Dont forget we still have Lance Allred: who needs to be replaced by a veteran big IMO as well. |

It is almost as if some of you would rather watch Dwayne Jones play Hot Potato with the ball again this season. Wright can give us 8/4 if given 15+ minutes. |

Yah really, no bid deal if we pickup Wright. You can never have too much help or backup. Imagine the disaster if Ben and or Z went down. All we would have is J.J. Andy and Lance. Out of those 3 I think J.J. is the best which may not be saying that much. If we can get veteran experience down low, atleast temporarily until the deadline or next season, I see no problem with that.

I think Wright is going to be more like a David Wesley or Scott Williams than an Alan Henderson or Scott Pollard. I'd be surprised if the guy has any game left if he ever hits the court, but if it means anything, Wright is probably better than Aldred because he's supposd to still be able to rebound at least.

He isn't going to see any significant time anyway so as long as he signs for the vet minimum I could care less. |

Its a great signing for what the guys gonna do.
Its possible his career could be rejuvenated like Ratliff in Detroit, hes only 32 and hasnt played on a contender in years. So there is a chance that he could be a decent backup like Ratliff or PJ Brown.
But the main reason for signing him is to mentor JJ. I heard theyre hoping he will become JJs practice buddy and work out with him and playon 1 on 1 before games. He fits that role perfectly. And also he can be used in any big trades we make at mid-season. But if this really is theonly move we make for a big man this Summer I wont be that happy. Not that JJ cant be a 4th big man, its just I dont know if our first 3 big men are good enough for JJ to be backing them up.
It could work out, it could not. Big risk though and I dont see why Ferry would risk it. But if this is the only big man trade |

well not bad if he signs...he brings veteranship,as well as someone who can come in to get rebounds when Z is having trouble(game 7 vs boston)....that means we are very high on jj... it look like we are going to get money from the snow disability thing & we might sign jackson along with wright
plz get allred & thomas off the roster & get that money from snow! ben/jj Z/av/wright
not that bad...i know next season we will be looking at our bigs of the future
if jackson can turn in to a solid role player,we will be set at the PF spot with jj/jackson.... |

When you have limited funds, you shop in the bargain basement. The Vet's Minimum is 1.2 million with the league paying some of that. Wright is not a big investment. Having him will not guarantee a championship. That isn't what the 14th or 15th man on the roster is suppose to bring to the table. He quite possibly will bring more to the team than most that have been at the bottom of the roster. |
