Just speculating but I think its totally right. There are a ton of teams out there looking for a Delonte West. And we dont have that much of a need for him no more.

I know its difficult to trade him because of some BYC thing but this is the one move I hope gets done this summer. I want Boobie to have alotta playing time, and he just wont have the role he deserves with West here.

Mentions Golden State, Orlando and Miami. Dunno who we could get for him (dont think the Warriors would trade Jackson now they lost Ellis) but theres still Haslem or someone like that. Or Ferry could do one of his 3-way deals that he always does.

i dont see why we dont keep him,and be the deepest in the league at PG,hes our second best PG.boobie is a 3point specialist in my opinion.like damon jones, just younger and with more potential to be even more

Time to shut some people up once and for all.

Okay, BYC question.

For example Delonte gets a 5 mil/yr deal.

Do we take in only half, which would be 2.5? Or would the other team only take in 2.5?

But why not get somebody that will be a STARTER, and not just depth.

I kind of feel that at this point, if we did end up trading West, it wouldn't be for a starter, but more so for depth in a different area.  If we trade West for another big, I'm sure the best thing we could get for West in that department would be people like David Lee or maybe Haslem.  And those guys wouldn't be starting here I don't think, since Ben and Z will most likely hold the starting jobs until they are done.  The only way I could see us getting a starter in return for West would be if we traded him and maybe Sasha or Wally in a package deal for a starting quality SG since the 2 spot is basically up in the air right now.  If it comes down to West either being traded just for a quick fix to a problem or taking the QO, I would rather him take the QO.  West has value around the league, but has just as much value as a Cavalier.

Nice find S.A.S. I like having Delonte in the backcourt and I wouldn't be disappointed if we just wound up keeping him. The problem is we have too much depth in the back court meaning if we re-sign West either Wally or Pavs minutes will decrease. I don't want that. So this situation is a tricky one. If the right deal was in place I would definitely pull the trigger on it though, we need front court help much more than another back court player. Problem is, not much teams are willing to pay Delonte 5-6 million dollars a year. He just isn't worth that much. I liked that the article brought up Orlando as a possible sign and trade partner, but looking at their roster their is really noone that is available I would want. Their big man that are possible available are Tony Battie and Brian Cook. No thanks to either of those. Miami obviously has Udonis who I'd pull the trigger on and GS has got a lot of guys I'm interested in, I just don't see a sign and trade being how this issue pans out. My guess is he will sign for the final year with the qualifying offer and he will be thrown into a deal at the deadline with either Wally or Anderson(or both) as icing on the cake for a player of high value on a below average team. Charlotte comes to mind. I don't know how possible this scenario is but it's seems like a good move and we want to make sure we get something out of Delonte if he signs for the Q.O. I would not be disappointed if we managed to sign Delonte to a 3 or 4 year deal around 4 mill, but I can't see that being the case and he has really lost his role on the team now.

We can only take in half. not the other team.

If Delonte signs for the QO, he can be traded only with his consent.
