hi i was thinkin about who might be available at the deadline and fits in our team. joe johnson could be the perfect addition. he averages 20+ points, can defend, create for others.....

here's my idea:

joe johnson + speedy claxton (bad contract but it expires in 2010) for wally (they need expirings because they want to resign marvin williamas and al horford next year) + pavlovic (or west it depends who they want from us)

not bad...i like the idea of joe cool coming to c town..i don't think it will happen unless atlanta tanks..and they did make they playoffs last year so i dont know...i think we have a better shot at g force and i belive he is younger

yeah but they loose childress (so probably will be worser then last year also the east got a lot better so it's not sure that they will make the playoffs this year) and they need cap space to resign horford and marvin williams. g-force would be nice too. the only thing about him that worries me is that his contract has 4 years left and he's injury prone but you're right he's younger (26...joe is 27). both have their advantages joe can shoot a lot better gerald is more of a slasher who drives a lot to the basket. the great thing about g-force is his defense (although joe's defense isn't bad either)

I think we would have to give up Andy or West along with Wally's expiring. Also, probably a couple first rounders. If they DO implode, there will be plenty of teams looking to get JJ, and we don't have a ton of attractive pieces without giving them Andy, West or Boobie. I would personally be fine with:

Wally Szczerbiak/Anderson Varejao/Boobie Gibson/2009 1st/2011 1st

FOR

Joe Johnson/Speedy Claxton/Zaza Pachulia/2009 2nd

Lineup

Mo Williams/Speedy Claxton/Delonte West
Joe Johnson/Delonte West/Sasha Pavlovic/Tarence Kinsey
LeBron James/Tarence Kinsey/Sasha Pavlovic
Ben Wallace/Lorenzen Wright/JJ Hickson
Zydrunas Ilgauskas/Zaza Pachulia/Lorenzen Wright

That's an instant ring! I really hope Atlanta sucks this year! Joe, Mo and LeBron would be the best big 3 in the NBA! If you consider Z, it's more like a big 4. Add in the fact that you've now got a REALLY solid 8-9 man rotation when you add Delonte, Claxton and Pachulia and then whichever G/F shows up, as well as a hopefully productive JJ Hickson, and you're looking at hands down, the best team in the league.

hmm we would be a contender but i think even with joe johnson we might be a good pf away from being the favourite but our chances would increase extremly to win it all with him in the lineup. also we might not have the best big 3 in the league look at the lakers and their 4 player punch of kobe/bynum/gasol/odom that are all players who can score 20 points on any give night plus kobe who can score 30 on any given night.

Well, Mo, LeBron and JJ can all score 30 on any given night. Odom doesn't count if you ask me. He is WAAAAAY too inconsistent. Best big three to me, simply because LeBron counts as a big two by himself. He's that **** good! I think with Pachulia and Wright or PF position is fine. Even though we don't have a solid starting PF, I don't think it matters that much because we're not going to get that much offenhse from that position when LeBron Mo and JJ are all on the court together. I mean, how do you guard all three of those guys? You can't double both LeBron AND Joe. You just have to deal with them the best you can; in other words, let them score on you!!!

Man, if we could get Pachulia and Johnson that would be sweet. I think Zaza would be a great heir to Z Z lol.

we would have to give them a lot in order to get johnson I don't see them really giving him up either.

I said this earlier, but Josh Smith would even be better then Joe Johnson if ATL ends up trading at the deadline. Threads like these are way too early bc its impossible to predict

we would have to give up so much for him. wally, av, sasha, possibly west(if he resigns) and like a 1st rounder or 2. with all that said it would be worth it and it would help for the offseason of 2010. we could use our money for a very good free agent and after we sign that player sign lebron and joe johnson to what ever cause we own there rights. we can demolish the lux tax and still sign lebron and jj. that would be perfect
