Hey guys, I'm back again and this is just another post with a bunch of news and quotes from everywhere. Here's a bunch of stuff i found about JJ Hickson.

Some things about JJ going on in the news and what people are saying:

Great Blog/Article with a lot of detail, quotes, & sources about JJ Hickson: http://mvn.com/nba-cavaliers/2008/08/15/jj-hickson-the-skys-the-limit/

JJ Hickson was working recently with an instructor that also has trained Chris Paul, Raymond Felton, Marvin Williams & other NBA Players: http://heraldsun.southernheadlines.com/opinion/columnists/mccann/62-988456.cfm?

ESPN Analyst thinks JJ Hickson can possibly make some type of impact this season: http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/basketball/fba/story?page=nbadk2k9_rookies

"On possible positivein that area could wind up being rookie J.J. Hickson, an active, athletic forward out of NC State that the Cavs nabbed in the draft this spring. He's a little raw, but he offers more of an offensive look than Ben Wallace does at the four, and he certainly has more spring in his step.": http://www.tsn.ca/nba/story/?id=248765

just a reminder, paul and felton are point guards, and marvin williams is a guard/forward, where as hickson is a pf possible c. that's not exactly a comparrison you would want to put up there saying he's getting taught by someone listing only successful guards. it is good to see this though.

Id like t see how Hickson would do in someone like Beasley's position. Starting for a bad team.

But even though hes just 19, theres no reason he cant have a huge season. He just wont get huge minutes. He could easily have a huge season in comparison to the minutes he gets. But if he does well his minutes will go up.

Hickson's play will determine if we trade for another big man. Im hoping we dont need to do that.

Pretty much my take on Hickson exactly.  I've been comparing his potential as a rookie to Boozer and I also hope he's good enough so the Cavs don't have to trade for another big.

Besides the Marvin WIlliams, Felton, Paul coach thing, all of those were good news....

Just because all of these guys went to school in NC (UNC, NC State, Wake), they all obviously have connections to the same coaches.

Williams and Felton have vastly underacheived.

Chris Paul is the best PG in the league, hands down.

If we get any decent and consistent production out of any rookie, that's always a plus.

JJ will contribute something on offence this season. bigs dont have as bad an adjustment as wings and point guards for some reason. as for defence he will be solid but wont stand out, maybe be a lil below average. he could get maybe 5 and 6 in 20 minutes

I expect him to have an immediate impact on this team.  Was it just me or were people saying that he was perhaps THE BEST player in the D-League this year?  He won a National Championship as a starter right?  I'm thinking the sky is the limit on this guy.

I just hope he has some sort of contribution to this team.  If we can get anything from him, losing Joe Smith won't be so bad.

That was Darnell Jackson who won the national title.  J.J. Hickson looked very good in the summer league.

The NBA is so soft right now, I see Hickson contributing this season.  I think he is in the ideal situation, lots of veterans, no preassure to produce (unless injuries occur) and he will have 2-3 solid distributors to play off of.
