what about stephen jackson? he could be available at the trade deadline (it's very probable the warriors won't make the playoffs especially with monta out for the beginning of the season). he's a great perimeter defender (indeed only when he's into it (watch the warriors - mavs series when he defended dirk--->insane) but he should be motivated on a championship contending team like ours), has size, can create for others, can hit the 3....also his contract has only 2 years left so that won't effect our cap space situation in 2010. i've read a few interviews when he still played for the pacers in which he said mike brown is like a father for him and he likes him....so there shouldn't been any problems with him because sometimes he's kind of a headcase. there were some talks about mike miller here in my opinion stephen jackson would be a better fit and also could be easier to get. we can also try to include harrington in a deal (he was available all summer long) he wouldn't be bad off the bench or starting at the 4 or!? i don't know what the warriors need but with monta out i can see them wanting west....what do you think about the idea of getting jackson?

i've already read about that rumor 3 months ago but that's unrealistic in my opinion the warriors give up their best perimeter defender who averaged 20ppg last season and get nearly nothing in return...how about west&sasha and a pick?

idk i thought they would want some cap relief after all those contracts?

but we can't jump to conclusion with the starting 2guard just yet....we have to wait to see if sasha comes back with a much improved sasha & how well he may fit with mo & lebron

hmm i think even if sasha plays like in 06/07 when he had some nice games stephen jackson would be a lot better for us at the sg because he's a better defender and also better on the offensive end (has more basketball IQ than sasha) so overall you can say he's cleary a better player so why not take him?

yeah for sure jackson is better...say mo & lebron are doing good taking over games & just having the ball in their hands(creating for themselves,others,etc...) then why get jackson....in that situation we would need sasha to knock down shots, play solid D & complete plays/assists which i know he is capable of...also in tthat situation it would allow us to trade for help downlow

where as we have a good record at mid-season but we still need help from our guards....(sasha.wally & west) are not getting the job down then we would need to trade for a guard such as jack or miller...  you get my point ?

I e-mailed windhorst, finnan, and schimitt.  They all said they heard the rumor but its not happening. They talked to the cavs and there is no interest even though brown has a good relationship with him

Two things that Cavs fans have been looking for is a player who can help us win now, Stephen Jackson could only help our team, and cap space available in 2010 for all-star contracts. Jackson sounds like the perfect fit for both of these solutions. Mike Miller would be an awesome pickup also, but I think Jackson is more realistic because the Warriors will probably have a worse season, and Jackson is a better defender and will fit right in with MB's system. Let's find a way to get this deal done.

Wow...see it's stuff like this that's unsettling to me and concerns me about the leadership of the front office.

I don't know what the actual situation was but if S-Jax was available for as little as was reported they are idiots for not making the deal. He is 100x better than any shooting guard we've had in years. And he wouldn't have to score a lot. Just as long as he took good shots (which he IS capable of doing, look what he did in S.A.) and played heady D he would play 35 mpg. And he has a good relationship with Mike Brown which could only help the situation. I mean, maybe Ferry knows something I don't about what is on the team already, but even with the Mo Will deal, WHY would you not want to make your backcourt even better?
