Ideal Shooting Guard

With the addition of Mo Williams, knowing Mike Brown, his ideal shooting guard is going to be a large, physical, defensive minded SG. With williams playing instead of west at pg, we lose size and defense, yes mo may improve defensively, but hes never going to be great defensively. However, Williams also brings more scoring and offense, so what we need is a defensive minded guard, who is a competent offensive player, not a liability.

I love delonte west, but i just dont see mike brown starting him at the 2 because of his lack of size. I know theres a lot of unbased optimism about kinsey, but he may be the best fit for that lineup. he is big and defensive minded, with some offensive talent. But he was cut by MEMPHIS.... I also cant see wally starting because the backcourt of wally and mo would leave the perimeter very weak on the defensive end. My hope is that delonte can play like he is 6'6" and can get the job done defensively guarding SGs, he brings toughness and poise, but i just cant see that happening w/ Mike Browns love of big guards. Thoughts?

we need larry hughes back lol.  I hate to say it but he would actually be the Ideal type of 2-guard for our lineup.

Or a younger Raja Bell...or we could bring doug christie out of retirement?

Yea...I dunno who is available like that anymore so we gotta work with what we got for now, and hope Kinsey can contribute.

Mike Brown has shown in the past he can put confidence in delonte west, putting him out there to defend bigger guards. I think we will see delonte alot at the 2. Remember he is a scrappy defender and could get under the skin of bigger guys like Anderson. I hope mike brown will show some confidence in delonte because he would be our best defender.

I personally think the ideal situation is to start Pavlovic, but only if he can return to playing the way he did in the 06-07 season.  He can handle himself on defense in this system and did fine on defense last year.  It was his shot that went missing last season.  Hopefully being in camp this season will get him off to the right track again.  Pavs is good enough on the defensive end, if he can get back to shooting around 40% for 3pt he will end up our starting SG.

With Pavs starting, I'm sure we'll still see some of West at SG.

Unless Wally hits 50% from three in training camp, get used to Sasha :)
