The Cavaliers released center Lance Allred today. Allred joined the Cavaliers with a 10-day contract on March 13th of 2008 and then signed another 10-day contract on March 25th. He was signed for the remainder of the season on April 4th and opened camp with the Cavaliers for the 2008-09 season on September 30th. I kind of saw this coming, but am sad to see it. Best of luck to Lance.

Sad to see him go. Never really got to see much of him, but he was a refreshing voice who shared his thoughts with us a few times through blogs. I wish him luck in the future, but wouldn't doubt seeing him back here if injuries arise. I'm guessing they want to get L.Wright in there more.

Best of luck to Lance! He tried his best in Cleveland but it just did not work out. Hopefully he can still be productive in the D-League, but the NBA is just not the right place for him at the moment. Thanks Lance!

As expected. If this wasn't a team with championship ambitions, he'd be more than welcome, but at the moment, we need someone ready to step up, even at the end of the bench, especially because one spot is saved for Snow |

I wish they kept him the entire pre-season, just my opinion, it would have been nice to give him more time to make the team, but Good Luck Lance! |

Good effort on Lance's part to stick with us last year, he just doesn't have the footwork or athleticism, for a big guy, at this level. Good luck Lance! |
