Brian Windhorst reports the Cavs may have interest in McDeyss and can offer him more money than anyone else. 


I'm sorry, but if Ferry finds a way to get McDeyss, we have to be legit favorites in the East.  And he's worth every penny of our mid level.

If we can get McDyess, our front court gets so much deeper. And it probably means the end of Wally trying to guard 4's, which I havn't been overally impressed with thus far. If it takes out full Mid-Level for the rest of the year, I'd be totally for it, we aren't going to have a better option in free agency this season.

Thinking ahead: Former Cav Drew Gooden is comfortable in Chicago, he is now the starting center and new coach Vinny Del Negro named him one of the team's captains. However, this is the final year of his contract and for the first time he will be an unrestricted free agent next summer. Whether or not the Cavs would be interested would depend on what happens withAnderson Varejao, who can opt out of his contract at season's end. But Gooden, himself, may have some interest.


"I really enjoyed playing here and the people here," Gooden said. "If they called, I would listen."



Let's hope that never, ever, ever happens again. We've been through one Gooden nightmare, that's enough.

Do it. He'd replace what we lost in Joe Smith. A big that is offensive minded. JJ has looked good thus far, but I don't think MB is willing to crack him into the lineup yet. We then won't have to go small all the time.

We'd be dumb not to do it. Our front court is still weak. McDyess is like a smarter, better defender version of Gooden.

The Nuggets are probably going to buy him out, since he pretty much refuses to play there. That means he's a free agent and can sign anywhere. If he wants to sign with the Pistons, he has to wait 30 days. We can offer the most money between Boston, SA, and Detroit. All the teams who are reported interested. He'd likely only go to a contender.
