If I'm not mistaken, I think they just signed him to an extention this summer to some rediculous amounts of money so I'm guessing that they are building around him. |

They gave him 80 million, I think that qualifies as franchise. We'd never take that contract anyways.
The way West is playing right now(I know I wouldn't LOOK to trade him), but the cavs probably have a great chance of dangling Wally and West, to land something huge at the 2 guard spot.
Not saying I'm looking to trade West. He is undersized still IMO, and is it a bad thing he's jacking up his stock like crazy? Just saying something to consider. You imagine McDyess and then someone like Gerald Wallace at the deadline?
Well I'm no hero, that's understood... All the redemption I can offer a girl is beneath this dirty hood.

If we got McDyess and gave him 20 minutes a game, which wouldn't be hard to find on this team right now, he would replace what we lost in Joe Smith, and could easily put up around 8 and 5 for us. It would mean more rest for Z which isn't a bad thing. And a real 4 off the bench, because watching Wally try to guard 4's off the bench has been ugly at times. McDyess has been pretty healthy as of late to playing in 77, 82, 82, and 78 games the last 4 years. I would be so pumped if we got him. Z/AV Ben/McDyess LBJ/Sasha Delonte/Wally Mo/Boobie
And we would could just dangle Wally at the deadline and get the best possible deal available for this team and we would be looking really dangerous.

Thanks for the Bogut info, I didnt think he played very well in his opening contract and thought his might be reasonable. He has been putting up nice numbers in the boxscore, i havent honestly watched him much. When I do though I like his game and want him to be our replacement to Z.

If we could pull someone like Gerald Wallace at the deadline w/o giving up Delonte, we would be hands down favorites, and dominant. If Delonte can keep that play up all season, imagine that coming off the bench with AV, Dyess, and Boobie. That would be such a good team. Im probably dreaming though...

With Av becoming an unrestricted FA after this year, yeah I wouldn't mind McDyess coming here. His offensive production at PF could really help us. With Z, Ben playing GREAT ball, AV, and throw in McDyess....WOW are we DEEP! Also, don't forget the development of JJ. We'll nurse his minutes this year and JJ has a huge upside.

I think the addition of Mcdeyss makes us the deepest, most well rounded team in the East. To think we do this without using Wally's contract is incredibly enticing. Gilbert has already said money is no object. I'm really not sure what the negative of the move is. Really, I don't think there is one. We could probably pay him a two year deal since we do have an open roster spot. He'll probably end up going back to Detroit, but who knows. It's fun to think about! |
