i know we'd make an offer for mcdyess if the nuggets buy him out, i just know we would. but i certainly did not know about us being able to offer the most money. man, if we could pull that off i'm certain we will win it all. this would give mike brown a solid 10 man rotation without having to put wally at the 4 spot at anytime. this would be a huge move. seriously, if denver lets him go and we can lure him over here, we're champions i'm certain. |

We beter offer him all that money. Close to the full MLE. Having Dyess could actually mean we dont need to trade for any new bigmen.
People might be worried about Hickson's minutes, but he will still get some. Mostly at the end of blowouts but as the season goes on, Hickson could easily work himslef higher into tha rotation.
SIGN DYESS FERRY! NOW! |

JJ Hickson should be a big ZERO factor in whether or not we get McDeyss. Hickson is in his first year on a team with championship aspirations. Playing him any sizeable minutes would seem to mean something has gone awry this year. When you are this close to the championship, a guy like McDeyss is worth his weight in gold, especially on a squad with limited offensive production from its bigs. Not to mention, he has a ring. I just think Antonio fits every way possible on this team. Even if we didn't make another move, McDeyss could be enough to get us over the hump. The money isn't much of an issue. For one, Gilbert seems to have a neat little money printer in the basement at the Q and doesn't seem to mind letting it work overtime. Second, with Snow's contract coming off the books this year, most of McDeyss' first year would be washed out(if not all of it). |

If Ferry for a moment thought that would be a good idea, Drew's play last night should remind him why it's not. I thought Vinnie Del Negro was going to kill Drew when he took that long 2 down the stretch which resulted in the long rebound and LeBron's and-1.

As much as I want JJ to get some PT, McDyess' jumpshot, tough, smart, team oriented play, and activity could really put us over the top. He would also add another great mentor for JJ and DJ.

Hopefully this game puts the Wallace, Gooden talk to rest. Ben is a much, much better fit for this team and is playing his role perfectly right now. Gooden is a head case and I loved Del Negro's reaction to that shot, its exactly how I felt atleast once a game when he was playing for us. And yes I think Ferry should sign Mcdyess.
Lebron is so good he could figure out how to beat himself...

This really scares me, I think it's at least possible. Say we lose Av, we are very thin on the front line. GRRR, McDyess more reason for him to come.
I would never in million years want him back. I'm even more surprised he'd want to come back. I don't think Brown and Lebron were very fond of his play though. I think Lebron likes him as a friend, but got on him a lot as a player.
Well I'm no hero, that's understood... All the redemption I can offer a girl is beneath this dirty hood.

He would be good insurance for possible Big Z and Big Ben injuries. There isn't a chance in the world that the Cavs look at reacquiring Drew Gooden. |

I'm 99 percent sure he is going back to Detroit, unless someone overpays him. |

^I am a genius.
Seriously though, Godfather (haven't read all the way through this thread yet so I don't know if it's been brought up) is right when he says McDyess is going ring shopping. That's why he picked Detroit in 2004, they just came off winning a title. That's why I think he's NOT going back to Detroit. From there, I think that it's down to 3 teams (if they're interested): 1. Los Angeles - They still have most/all of their MLE and, if I remember correctly, they're actually giving minutes to Chris Mihm. If they're interested, that's where he's going. 2. Cleveland/Boston - I really think it's a toss up here. He'd probably prefer Boston because they're seen as more legit contenders, and he's good friends with KG, but I think the Cavs may want him more and throw some more cash at him. Also, I don't know if Boston would want to give him next year too.
I don't see any other team in the West really standing out as a good enough contender to lure McDyess in. The Spurs might look into it but I think they used part of their MLE to bring in Roger Mason and they really don't want to pay the Lux Tax. The Jazz don't really need him, and they also don't want to pay the tax. The Suns already have 1 slow moving big man that still doesn't really fit in. In the East it's really only Det, Boston and Cleveland. The other teams I consider contenders (Toronto, Philly, Orlando) don't have any use for him.
Jose Calderon will finally be recognized as a Top 3 PG in the league this season.
