13.  Last season Taco Bell was earning huge income for its shareholders.

13. This season the Cavs could throw them into bankrupcy with all the free chalupas they're gonna have to give away.

Id like to compare the year we went to the Final's with this year's productivity.

Not taking away from your diligent work N.O....Innocent

"So, of course, LeBron then power drives to the hoop, elevates over the moon over Miami, and throws down the most earth-shaking, game-breaking, De-Wade-flating, Heat-baking, Celtics-baiting, Kobe-quaking, pancaking, scintillating, bombasticating, ain't-no-imitating, in-your-face-no-matter-which-way-you're-facing thunder dunk, delivered with such force that it takes the breath away of an entire generation."

I agree that LeBron and Z's minutes is such a plus at this point, if we can keep winning and those two used rather sparingly...that is huge.

That will really help us come playoff time I think.

Windhorst wrote a piece about how great the Cavs are statistically this year and it sort of fits into this thread.

One year ago (11/27/2007), we beat Boston 109 - 104 to get to 9-6 for the season.

AV was still a holdout, Larry Hughes was injured, our starting backcourt was Boobie and Sasha!

Thanks for some great moves, Ferry.

At this point last year:

1) I would hear from these forums that the cavs were contenders, but I knew deep down it would not happen.

2) Everytime we would get up by 10 pts on a team, I would consider it a huge lead for us

3) Whenever someone else on the team (besides Z) scored in double figures it would be something special

4) I would always be worried whenever we played a team like the knicks or warriors because they could score more than us.

Now:

1) I actually believe that without a move before the deadline, this team is good enough and deep enough to win a title

2) We consistently blow out teams we should, have a 10 pt differential at home and 7 on the road which is 2nd in the NBA, and get easy 10-12 pt leads even on good teams (Pistons)

3) Mo, Boobie, Delonte, and Z can easily get double figures every game and we get great contributions from Wally, Kinsey, Jackson, AV, and Hickson.

4) We can play any style of ball: run and gun, half-court set etc. We average more than 100 pts per game and can outscore teams like the Knicks and Golden state if need be.

Looking at that roster above gives me nightmares and countless nights of screaming at the tv. The difference between this years and last years team is astronomical.  so much more depth everywhere.

AND FURTHERMORE!: November 2007 NBA Power Rankings

  1. Boston Celtics (11-1) – Boston has started the 2007-2008 NBA season red hot and has held teams to a league low 89.7 ppg. The Celtics are beating teams by an average of 13 ppg.
  2. San Antonio Spurs (12-2) -- The Spurs are doing what they do best, playing organized basketball and executing as good as any.
  3. Phoenix Suns (11-2) -- The Suns have quietly put together a solid start in the West, even though Amare Stoudemire has just started to heat up.
  4. Orlando Magic (12-3) -- Orlando has shocked the world with such a fast start. Dwight Howard is playing out of his mind and Rashard Lewis has proven to be a nice addition.
  5. Utah Jazz (10-4) - Ronnie Brewer is providing the consistently they've needed at the two guard spot and the one-two punch of Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams has Jazz fans excited for the future.
  6. Dallas Mavericks (9-4) – Dirk Nowitzki is conserving his energy for the playoffs; a lesson he's learned from the San Antonio Spurs' utilization of Tim Duncan. He's deferring more to Josh Howard and Jason Terry on offense.
  7. New Orleans Hornets (10-5) -- Chris Paul has that team playing on all cylinders again. Now he just needs to get back to health.
  8. Denver Nuggets (9-5) – Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony seem to be co-existing nicely so far.
  9. Milwaukee Bucks (7-4) -- The Bucks are healthy again and playing solid. Rookie Yi Jianlian has put in some nice outings, while Michael Redd continues to lead the team in scoring.
  10. Cleveland Cavaliers (8-6) -- The Cavs probably won't repeat as Eastern Conference Champions this season, but for now, LeBron James is playing out of his mind.
