At This Point Last Year

Thanks for these No Offense, these stats are awesome to look at. The one that caught my eye was the fact that we have already won 11 games by 10 or more points which is more than we did ALL LAST YEAR. Just thinking about that for a second....we almost beat Boston in a 7 game series with those stats, the sky is the limit now

Don't forget, we play smart this year. No more Drew Gooden, Sasha, etc. getting minutes and driving fans/coaches/players crazy alike with their incredibly stupid playl

Thanks for the props.  It's definitely no walk in the park coming up with these stats, so I appreciate when people show appreciation for it.

Regardless, they are looking great this year.  There's some very nice stats this year.

This is what our point differential looks like in graph form for the season...(as a link because the image itself is too large and will make the thread's formatting go bonkers--and I apologize that it looks cheap, I did it quickly) :: Click here for Point Diff Graph

(note :: Our last eight wins have all been by 10+ points, obviously this is disregarding the loss at Detroit...That stretch of nine games (including the DET game) we averaged a +14.89 point differential...disregarding the Detroit loss, we won those eight games remaining by an average of 17.63 points)

If we didn't have that misstep in Detroit, that's one nice picture of domination (I don't care if it's against teams we should beat the snot out of, we've had trouble with those teams in the past).

I have been very impressed with not only how well our offense has been, but how good our defense has been so far this year. It seemed with the holdouts last year our defense just wasn't getting anything done. This year, we've got the team we went into training camp with, had no contract disputes or other distractions, and we seem like a much more focused team.

And it's wonderful to see LeBron play so few minutes. Z as well (and Ben, but he should be playing the ~20~25 MPG he's getting regardless). And the fact that we have had one starting lineup this year...Man, this team seems so much more stable and the players seem comfortable within their given roles (overall) this year. It's great to see.

Oh, and as usual, thanks for the stats, No Offense. =)

Thanks for the stats No Offense and ink, they give great insight into the differences between last year's team and this year's team, and how dominant we've been so far this season.  I agree with you guys, it's so exciting to see us playing the way we are, and coaching the way MB and the crew are coaching.  Hope it continues!

Thats basketball. I would also like to say that Danny Ferry isn't doing a bad job, if you think about it. Looking at that shows how much better our personnel is and how much better our coaching staff and the players have gotten.

What jumps out at me was the 13 turnovers that lead to 22 Knick points last year against only 12 points off 16 Knick turnovers...  then you look at converting 28 turnovers into 41 points tonight.  Of course, shooting 7% better from the field, 25% better from the line (with 9 more attempts), a 25% increase in assists, a 28% reduction in personal fouls, the 7 additional steals, and most notably the 8 blocked shots compared to none last year...  These are two very different teams, this season's team is much better on both ends.
