52-30
Call it negativity, call it what you will. Until we can put away weaker teams early and maintain that consistency we will never be above 55. We are not a regular season team.
Free throws are a big part of it as well as perimeter defense.
You are occasionally going to face a hot team behind the arc and with our D that itself can provide a loss every 5 games. |

Negativity sounds about right. Boo that. I don't buy this "not a regular season team" argument. That is based on the past (ahhhh the good old days of larry hughes, donyell, damon, contract holdouts, no backcourt depth...). We actually have enough depth that we can weather an injury or two and not collapse. This is a team that could actually win a game without Lebron, though ill be ok if that theory remains untested. The pacers and nuggets have beaten boston so far. The forum would be raging if we dropped those. If there's a 60 win team in the NBA this year its Cleveland/LA. I say we win 64.
We have such depth, someone different steps up every night, Lebron is Lebron AND a better rested Lebron. This is a rock solid regular season team and an absolutely frightening playoff team. Mcdyess is also possible and JJ will be in the rotation soon enough.
I beg all posters to please stop using "there", when the word you mean is "their" or "they're". These words are not interchangeable, EVER. It's such an eyesore.

i think if there won't be any major injuries this year 60 wins aren't out of reach....the trade deadline deal could also effect how much games we will win

Think of it this way, right now, we're 8-2. We've won 80% of our games. If we keep that pace, we'll win 66 games. (Again, if we can sustain this pace.) So I say 66-16. |

To keep up this pace we are going to have to hit our free throws which we have thus far (Lebron, AV have improved, hell even Ben hit three in a row). If we can do that then 55+ is a reachable goal.
Get a long perimeter defender and I would say 55+ is a probability and 60 would be reachable.
I'm not even going to comment on post presence(offense) and the ability to disrupt fast penetrating guards ( Parker, Rondo, Lue etc). |
