Does the All-star coach have a bigger say on the roster?
As it stands now, I don't think MoMo deserves a slot. Way too many gaurds out-playing him. Anything can happen, though. Injuries, our dominance, and his improved chemistry will all be factors as the season goes on.
As for Z, I would love to see him get one more appearance. He needs the same things MoMo does to make it, though. |

Coaches are decided by virtue of who has the best record in each conference at the All-Star break.
If Mike Brown were to coach the All-Star game, the Cavs would have to maintain the second-best record in the East (Doc Rivers coached it last year, and no coach is allowed to do it two years in a row).

I do believe Mo will get in along with Big Z and Lebron. I think more so because of the record of the Cavs. |

Through the early going it's pretty easy to see that Mo and Delonte deserve serious consideration, but I don't think there's any chance they'll make it because it's a numbers game more than anything and the guard situation in the east is just sooo deep. Lebron of course will make it and first the first time ina few years Z has a real shot. He's been an all-star twice before so he has the reputation of being at that level. If the Cavs go into the break with one of the best records in the east and Z is able to to keep his scoring average over 14.5, preferably over 15 and get his rebounds to 7.5 plus i think he will definately make it. I think Mo would have to raise his assists average to at least 7.5 a game to have a good chance of making the team to compare better with the point guards with gaudier stats. Possible, but highly unlikely with how well everyone is contributing as a team. Bottomline: my prediciton is L train and Z on the AS team this year |

While that would be great for MoMo or Z, I don't think that is fair for the same reason I don't think it's fair to give the MVP trophy to the "Best player on the best team" or to have some arbitrary rule that an MVP can't go to a player on a sub-50 win team. I understand the arguments against that, but I just disagree. |

As long as we keep playing the way we're playing, we'll be number one in the East, possibly in the league, which means Mike Brown will be coaching the team, which means you kinda have to give the number one team a second player.
THats how the coaches vote, there are guards in this conference that our putting up better numbers than Mo individually, but are on horrible teams, and those same guys are passed on EVERY year. Look at Michael Redd, as good as scorer as anyone but only been voted in once, and even when he was averaging over 30 he wasnt voted in.
If we are number 1 in the East, the coaches will vote Mo in just because hes the second best player on the ebst team in the league and he is responisble for taking us to the next level. Plus, Mo is still apparently recovering from surgery and his hernia, plus hes getting more comfortable iwth the team. He'll be putting up bette individual number as the season goes on. |
