I'm not sure he's either for the money he'd need. We can find guys just about as effective as VC for cheaper and at younger ages. |

I am pretty certain that he meant G-Wallace not VC dude... but yeah I see how you read it like that considering the title of this thread. |

Speaking of VC... considering his pretty pour effort against the cavs... look at his stats against the raptors last night: 39 pts. ,9 boards and 6assists and only one turnover. To be honest... i would really enjoy having vince join the cavs but the only thing about him is.. you never know if hes gonna show up or not. One night he can be a scoring machine and get whatever he wants while other nights he settles for outside shots and doesnt give a good effort on D. Now maybe a trade to a contender like us would change his attitude and motivate him which would be great for us. If i would be the GM..I would definatly try to persue VC and try to get him cheap near the trade deadline when or if the nets are out of contention already
Well................................................................................. i guess theres next year :(

I agree his stats were great last night...he hit a great game winner...but I think it was more because of it being his old team. I think he wanted to show the fans that he was still good but he hasn't done that all year or even really last year for that matter. If bringing him here would bring him back to his prime then that would be awesome..but I wouldn't want to take that chance.

yeah u have a point that its his old team, with everyone booing him but still, u cant deny vince' talent. This year with the young team they have in jersey, he has become a better vocal leader. I think he would be a great pick-up, a big risk but if he is motivated man.. he is gonna put this team to another level. believe me

Carter would be the final piece for this team, and put us over the edge as a championship favourite. Think about it, Lebron says he wants to average 20 10 10, to do that they need a swingman scoring guard like carter. Mo will still get his shots, boobie and delonte will get minutes of the bench, and we would watch lebrons assist numbers grow from looking to set up vince. Carter is a massive clutch guy, and it would mean the final minutes of a close game would definitely not go back to Lebron dribbling for 20 seconds before throwing up a bad shot or looking for a bail out 3. I can just see him being a perfect fit here, and wont have the famous mental issues on a contender. Heck on a rubbish New Jersey side he looks motivated, I'm sure it wont be an issue next to Lebron. Please get it done Ferry.
Lebron is so good he could figure out how to beat himself...

right after watching carter playing lately it's hard not to want this guy....he shoots 48% from the floor and almost 40% from three that's unbelievable for a sg....but i still think even if we get him we need a post presence to put us over the top. also i think the nets will want more than just wally for vince probably andy and we can't give him up if we don't get a decent big in return

After what they got for Richard Jefferson, I really don't think NJ would want much for Vince Carter. I think we could get him reeeally cheap. And with all this insane talk even coming from ESPN Analysts about Lebron being a Knick in 2010 we need to just win right now. I Personally don't think he's going anywhere but the whole world does. And just think how horrible it'd be if he left after his 7th season without one title. I Think we could get VC for Wally, Sasha, 2nd round Pick. His contract is huge and that team is going absolutely nowhere. And if you think Pierce, Garnett, and Ray Ray are a big 3. How about Lebron, Vince Carter, and Mo Starting Lineup... Mo, VC, LBJ, Ben, Z Now that would be one team that is impossible to beat in a 7 game series. |

the problem of our big three would be that that are all backcourt players and we do have zero low-post presence and you need a guy who can get you easy baskets in the paint...it would be a lot tougher for teams like boston, detroit... to beat us if we would have a guy who can score with his back to the basket (Z has become a shooter over the last years). it's not good when all your points come from the perimeter
