You still want VC?

VC would be a good addition. Although a quality Big is needed, a super-star at the 2 is an amazing improvement.

Our back court would be extremely hard to guard. Lebron can go back to playing towards his strength, "Driving",

instead of jump shooting. The Bulls did fine with a rebounding guru at the 4. Rodman like Wallace didn't score much so I can see CLE being incredibly strong with VC.

besides... it's better to see VC+LBJ here rather than in NJ...

the problem of our big three would be that that are all backcourt players and we do have zero low-post presence and you need a guy who can get you easy baskets in the paint...it would be a lot tougher for teams like boston, detroit... to beat us if we would have a guy who can score with his back to the basket (Z has become a shooter over the last years). it's not good when all your points come from the perimeter

I agree with this... but shouldn't LeBron also develop a great post game regardless of our bigs... like Jordan did? We don't need a dominant center or scoring PF once LeBron fills out his potential all the way.

.

Also, hypotheticly speaking let's say McDyess signs back with Pistons and G-Wallace winds up somewhere other than Cavs... AK-47 stays on Jazz... all the other trades that would be ideal personel-wise aren't there, then yes I think VC plus Sean Williams for Wally and Sasha might be alright in my books... but only if those other two options don't play out our way... I still think AK-47 would be ideal... but a VC-Sean Williams still pretty good deal for Wally.

Yeah the problem right now is New Jersey are actually winning games!!? We need to start rooting for some losses so they go into give up mode, they aren't gonna dump him if they have a chance to make the playoffs. (of course we would hope for losses, with carter still doing his thing)

I agree we can't give up varejao in a deal for carter, its gonna have to be wally, pav, maybe a draft pick.

Lebron is so good he could figure out how to beat himself...

they won't make the playoffs that's for sure the problem is that they probably want more than just wally for vince and we can't give up andy beside we get a decent big in return and sean willams, josh boone and swift aren't the decent bigs i want to get in return for andy

It's just the steep rise and legnth of VC contract which scares me... it's a big one if things don't work out, and as nice as it would be for VC redeem himself here with titles with Lebron, and how well they could potentially play off each other. I've noticed Vince has been as cursed as he's been charmed... I don't know, even though he's been a model citizen great baller since he left TO and recovered his injury... he's still lacking. But if he was part core to something historic, Vince Carter has the talent to rise to tripple doubles threat alongside James.... does he have the character? That combo at its best would be pretty impressive and could push us to championship by next year...Or we could wait until 2010 to get a similar player in Wade or McGrady... no guarantees.

.

who knows? but aquiring VC doesn't put us over the top, unless we get a big man too.

maan !!! VC is awesome !! he just had a tremendous game against toronto and u can still see he has skill. bring the guy to a championship caliber team like cleveland and the guy would play out his heart every single game, and if he does, there is no more stopping cleveland any where any day !

the problem is that we even if we aquire vc still don't have any low-post presence and that's what you need to win it all....because a low-post scoring pf/c can get you easy baskets and we need that because it's too easy to defend a team that only gets his scoring almost only from the perimeter even if that's mo, vince and lbj

Putting VC on this team means that we are the favorite in the east.  We are already the only team that really has a chance against Boston, many people on espn and such have said so, and with such a dynamic player playing next to LBJ and mo, we would be unstopable.  I know that most championship teams need a great low-post player to go to when shots aren't falling, but I think with such a great backcourt, mo, Carter and James starting with boobie, west, wally and sasha spelling, james and Z and maybe even JJ in small quantities is enough.  I know that Z is turning into more of a shooter, but as long as he doesn't travel he almost always gets fouled (whether or not it's called) and he makes the shot half the time.  That combined with the instant double-triple team james commands on the block and JJ suprising second units will be enough.   because if west stays +40% and boobie heats up and Wally gets up to 33% or so and Sasha keeps driving and not totally sucking in his trash time, add that to VC getting wide open threes, (which he has been hitting alot of in a siuation in NJ where it's rarely wide open) and getting alley-oops, we won't need low-post bail-outs often.  Imagine Z or mo at the top of the key with lebron at the 4 VC at the three and west at the 2.  West in the corner, and James slashing on one side with Carter on the other, and you will get a very high percentage shot every time.  If they shut that down by doubling the lobber at the top of the key, just go to the open man from there.

Wallace will not fit well here.  He is good defensively, but his offensive game is totally not cohesive with our starters.  If he is fine with coming off the pine, then I think it's a good trade.  But I think we should all hope for bibby and horford getting hurt on johnson coming over here, now that is ideal.

I know it's early in the year but New Jersey are currenly a .500 team. If New York still thinks it is a playoff team even after the trades, then New Jersey may see themselves a chance to sneak in. However if they have a terrible record at the deadline I think they may look to straight out dump carter for wally and a pick. New York has now set the bar for salary dumping in order to clear room for 2010. I think other teams (like New Jersey) will follow.

Not going to waste all 2010 money on a 33-34 year old Vince Carter.

Its the mistake on the lake to you but this is my home
