i say that the cavs move to being ,if they aren't already, the best team in the East and possibly one of the top three elite between them the Lakers and Boston, if they get both of them.

I personally like Vince Carter.  Call me crazy, but before the big three played in Boston many would probably think that Pierce, Garnett, and Allen couldn't all cooperate.  Sure Vince Carter typically takes a lot of shots but look at the horrible team he's on.  His defense isn't that great but he's got size, maybe under Mike Brown he'd step that up a notch?   He also has been quite durable over the last few years, not his whole career, but last few at least.

Anyway... heres where i'm gettin.   I personally like vince.  But most hate him.  The Fact is... his contract lasts far too long and we really do not need a SG.   Delonte has been absolutely Lights out and we have almost too much depth at SG now.  Boobie, Wally, Sasha, Delonte.  These 4 are rotating minutes, so it makes no sense in going after yet another guard.    McDyess is a perfect fit, and since theres a very good chance he's signing with Detroit (At least thats what his friend Ben Wallace thinks)   The only position that we could use at the moment is a PF or even a Center.

If We don't McDyess.   Im hoping we do a trade involving Wally for Brad Miller.  I know there was a thread about this a couple days ago, but that makes a lot of sense.   Millers Contract even expires for 2010.

I got a SICK feeling Ferry is still looking at him and he will mess this team up! Carter is done! He isn't anything close to what he used to be.. that would ruin the team for YEARS!

Maybe VC has been "durable" for the past couple years, but I have an idea as to why.  He doesn't work hard.  He rarely attacks the paint lately, and when he does, it's only on iso plays where he knows he isn't going to have a big flying at him to hurt his delicate body.  He doesn't rebound as well as his length should dictate and he rarely defends dynamic wing players.  His wussy playing style and horrible contract are a terrible fit for this team.

VC IS a used jock strap.  LOL!!  Good one.

I want Wallace for the same reasons posted above.  I wanted Artest for those same reasons, plus his O game, but Wallace is a lower risk move and his D is all we need.  Don't we have the #1 offense in the league right now?  Wallace is starting to look like the best fit and the most likely senerio right now.  Get Okafur in a steal deal and we've got ourselves a Dynasty!!!!

Getting Emeka is unlikely, but would spell dynasty. Our number one priority is a post threat right now. Once we gain that, we will look at Gerald Wallace and see what we could get him for because his wing defense would be the final piece.

Our #1 priority is NOT a post threat and I'll tell you why:

1.  LeBron is a pretty good post threat.  He pretty much demands a double/triple team every single time.  Duplication of effort.

2.  We have the #1 rated offense so far.  I know it's early and we are untested, but we already know we need a wing defender.  We might not need a offensive post threat.  Don't get me wrong, we probably do need a post threat, but it's still a maybe and a wing defender need is a certainty.

It doesn't really matter.  We will find out more tonight and vs Atlanta.  Will Josh Smith be ready for us?  If so, that will be a good test.

Good post from a guy who likes VC. Nice to see that you understand we don't NEED him even though you like him.

I do say that the ONLY thing we need is a PF is kinda wrong. We also need a wing defender real bad.

I'm not a huge Carter fan, i'm neutral about the matter, but one night doesn't sway my decision one way or the other. Everyone has off nights, everyone has good nights. To base him off of one game is silly.

He averages around 23 ppg on 45%. Not 12 on 25%.

I kind of want Vince Carter. He isn't going to pay great every night, but if Boston has taught us anything from last year, we've learned that if you bring 3 all stars togther to play unselfish defensive basketball they will win the championship.

Vince saw it. Vince knows it. He's getting old and i'm pretty sure he wants a championship bad. Although I was against the trade at first, I think this would bring us a championship this year. I want to do it.

To go along with my previous post. Vince Carter has always been the number 1 guy. Putting him alongside LeBron and Mo would give him open looks he's never seen before. He'll take less shots, but probably shoot a higher percentage.

Giving up a player like Wally for Vince Carter is a no brainer IMO

But what does he bring!? We don't need anymore back court scoring. He is not a great defender and h has a huge contract.

I just don't get it. If we didn't have Mo, I'd understand why the shooting would look attractive.
