Doesn't surprise me in the least.  We have the best player on the planet, a relatively new and modern stadium, great production value at the games, and a fan base that is more ravenous for winning sports than any other of it's size.  Mix in a finals appearance and taking the celts to 7 and you have a valuable club.  While I'm on our fans, did anybody see how awesome we were last night.  The fans were in the game in the fourth when we were up 40!  People were giving standing Os to JJ on those drives!  Keep it up C-Town!

Very good point. LeBron made Cleveland a BIG basketball market and that's all LeBron basicallly needed. A few ships and the pot grows more.

where do we rank if Lebron leaves...? :(

Why would he leave, he wont gain any more money going to new york, and who would leave a championship caliber team, for one of which is a rebuilding team, if he does leave he isnt smart at all, he wont leave and thats a fact, cause hes not that stupid, and he knows by now the owner is willing to pay to keep him here, and willing to pay for better team mates, why would u leave that, hes not leaving

Not really sure a team of LeBron/Mo/Boobie/West/JJ/Jackson would qualify as a championship caliber team, remember we are talking 2010.

Z and Wallace will be toast. AV may not resign and jolt for more cash, signing AV long term at 8mill per season (MIN.) really hurts our 2010 cap situation.

As stated by Golfer, cap space will be around 60 million for unsigned FA that year. The the 6 guys I mentioned eat up 39.3 mill leaving us with 21 mill or so. AV eats up 8-10 and we are left with 12ish to spend on a FA. That leaves us with 7 signed players, AV included, and 12 mill to spend on a FA and the rest of the roster would be filled with 2009 and 2010 rookies and MLE type of players.

I really do not see any way to land a Bosh type player in 2010. The only way I see is if the Cavs maintain their current roster, maybe trade Wally this year for a guy who's contract expires next year and not re-sign AV.

So this ranking is by how much the team would cost to buy? Or how much money the make yearly?

it's how much it's assets are valued... profits, merchandizing, gate reciepts, players, venues, team plane/bus, broadcast deals, sponsorships, dirty laundry and jock straps... pretty much everything it would cost to buy them I suppose. Personally I'm still short a few bucks myself, so I hope I can get a loan from Quicken to buy them once I finnish eating this burger.
