Interesting Facts About Me I'm shy.

Cavs will win tonight, the celtics have no chance.

Saturday, May 10, 2008, 05:40 PM EST [General]

That's right, it's almost game time. I got my game face ready. We will tonight. You don't  become a eastern conference champion and just "pack it in" and that's not what you'll see tonight. I expect us to come out with a lot of passion and intensity. I expect the crowd to be loud. I expect Lebron James to have a better shot selection and play much better. I expect Z to continue to give the Celtics defense headaches. Look for Boobie Gibson to play better! Boobie is 1-4 from three in the first two games. Boobie Gibson has to be more aggressive. "Shoot Boobie, shoot." Wally has to be more aggressive. Joe has to step up. Andy is going to have to do a good job defending Garnett. We'll have to bring doubles on Garnett in the post.

Don't forget last year. We were down 0-2 to a more superior team and came back to win. In fact we've come back from 0-2 twice to at least make it a series two years in a row. Boston isn't as experienced and have not proved much in my eyes. I'm not impressed with them yet. I'm not convinced they can beat us in a series. Boston did what they had to do, win at home. Now it's time to return the favor.

Godfather's keys of winning the game, and getting back in the series.

1.) Defense. I want to see great weak side rotation. I want to see contested shots. I want to see them deny dribble penetration inside. I want us to force the other guys(outside their big three)to beat us. Bring tough, physical, defensive intensity. That's what wins us games! We need great team defense. Everyone has to do their part.

2.) Rebound the ball please. They out rebounded us 45 to 39 in game 2. We were out rebounded by two the first game. Unacceptable. We are a better rebounding team. We need to box out and keep the focus. Don't let the ball come to you, go to the ball. I realize with no Ben it will be tough. Everyone has to box their man out and it will take a team effort.

3.) Good ball movement. Work the ball into Z in the post. THEN back out. Use Z to suck in the defense. I want to see guys cutting to the hoop on the backside. I don't want to see much dribbling when we're in a half court set. There's no reason the ball should be in anyone's hands more than 3 seconds. Spread Boston's defense out. Don't make it easy on them.

4.) Lebron James. Good, clean, healthy shots from Lebron. Not 25 feet contested ones. Bring him off some screens. Get him catches closer to the hoop. Don't hold the ball and allow the defense to set up. Get Lebron some looks on the baseline, 15 feet. He seems to like that spot. Come on Lebron, you are better than this.

I was watching on NBA TV last night game 2 in the first round series between Detroit and Orlando. Our good friend Drew Gooden was playing crunch time minutes in a playoff game. He looked like a fish out of water. There was one point where he had to play help defense and kept looking at his guy with complete and utter fear that he would forget about his guy and get dunked on.

I'm sure you know what I am talking about.

    Thank you godfather.

I had a wonderful fathers day, playing 18 holes of golf with my son, visitiing my Dad's grave and having dinner with both my children, mom and many other family members. And then watching Rocco almost upset Tiger.

    B.E.A.U.tiful day it was indeed...

I am reading "The Franchise" by Terry Pluto and Brian Windhorst. I just got to the part where Drew Gooden enters the picture, and they were not too kind to him.

They said that he couldn't grasp the concept of the offensive and defensive plays, was immature and that he was taken 4th overall and traded halfway through his rookie year. They also mentioned how coaches had a hard time dealing with him because of these issues. It's a good read, especially to hear that kind of stuff from reputable sources.
