    Middleburg Heights Community Fest 2009

Thursday, July 2, 2009, 12:19 AM EST [General]

The Pizza Girls. I had 17 slices in 2 hoursLast Saturday I roamed the Midway in Middleburg Heights, ruling the dunk tank, breaking plates, eating Krispy Kremes, ordering Pizza, posing with Pizza Girls, eating Pizza, thinking about Pizza, dancing with the locals and stopping by the Pizza trailer.

Here are 54 photos from the event.  None capture the amazingness of the Pizza.

Thanks to the City of Middleburg Heights.  We had a great time.

Here are the photos to prove how much fun I had.

    Great Excuses For Being Late

    Dear Physical Education Teacher,
Please excuse my son/daughter from missing jumpy class yesterday. When Christian Eyenga awakened yesterday, I could see that his/her nose was Saucy. He/She also complained of hallux aches and having a sore VP of Basketball Operations, and I took him/her to the family Cookie Jar. The doctor quickly diagnosed it to be the 2.8 BILLION-hour flu and suggested he/she take two Draft Picks with a glass of bleach and go to bed quickly.

    Dear Science Teacher,
Please excuse Holly from CR for being late for your blueish science class. It's my fault. I feel greenish. Holly from CR was up until the slushy hours of the morning completing his/her mushy project. Just as he/she was going out the vibrant door, I noticed that his/her only pair of Ribbons had a/an Scissors in them. It took me an hour to find my Pants so I could see to jump the needle, enabling me to sew his/her underpants back together. (

    I've Got Gas!

Wednesday, July 1, 2009, 03:59 PM EST [General]

The Power to Surprise was on display yesterday when Kia Motors filled up tanks for the good people of Cleveland.  And I have the surprising photos to prove it.

I also would like to take this chance to test-drive a new summer-time blog format.  With my busy schedule of pumping gas, showering, and summer camps sometimes I don't have as much time to write as I would like.  The demands of my readers and the Front Office Braintrust include not only hilarity, but word count.  So I have created a new latin and mad-lib style blog to accomodate both the laugh-out-loud comedy expected along with the word count requested in the Dog Blogs.

Coach of the YearToday I appeared at Shell Gas Station in Cleveland.  All the people had a great time, including me and Coach Brown

Here are the photos to prove how much fun I had.

While there I realized that I had gas, so

Moondog, alias Johnny Cool, hated to make decisions even when his Shaq depended on it. He headed in the direction of an all-night Bucket nestled between a self-service Larry Obrien Trophy station and a Banana parlor. He pushed open the diner flat basketball but didn't enter. The only street lamp on the dark camera illuminated the fear on his elbow. He was coming to another decisive moment, and as always, it scared the popsicle out of him. He took a deep fish and entered the diner. It was almost surprising. Johnny slumped into a/an dingy leather booth. He was very tired. Every waffles in his body ached. His LeBron was trembling. He needed coffee rigorously. (Cool Mad Libs - Copyright (c) 2001 by Price Stern Sloan)

    See you next time!

    Showers: False Advertising

Monday, June 29, 2009, 12:56 AM EST [General]

Invite me to a shower and I just might take you up on it.  Nothing is more refreshing after a long week of basketball camps, luring Shaq to Cleveland, and listening to Jay Bilas talk about wingspan.

Ready for a ShowerSo this week when Ahmaad said we had been called to go to a shower, I was in.

Little did I know showers are polysemantic.

So imagine my surprise when I show up to a semi-formal shower  (of the bridal variety) smelling like gym shorts and burritos ready to be hosed down.  Thankfully the bride and groom ((normally I do not shower (of the bath variety) with the unwed)) were happy to see me, despite my poor choice of attire for a shower (of the bridal variety).

    You get the idea.

Congrats to the Bride and Groom to-be.  May your tile always be mildew free, soap always be new enough where you can still read the lettering, and your loofah always be a tight ball of exfoliating joy.

See all the photos from my weekend Shower

    The Big Cuyahoga

Thursday, June 25, 2009, 10:19 PM EST [General]

I have been getting emails, tweeks, notes, calls, and pings all day asking me about the newest addition to the Cavs, Shaquille O'Neal.

First of all let's address the nickname.  I am going with The Big Cuyahoga (on fire once again), and he can wear any number he wants (who's going to say no) other than 23 or a moon paw print (those are taken).

This addition is really a testiment to Danny Ferry and the basketball people for finding a relative unknown diamond in the rough who can really help us right away.*

It is a really unique and rare opportunity to bring in a player of Shaq's caliber.  I am  excited to see how his presence, experience and play positively impacts our team and me.

This trade is all about our continued commitment to get better and further our pursuit of a championship.

The deal makes us better for the upcoming season and also maintains our flexibility for the seasons after that as well.

We will still look at additional ways to improve our team on the court this season.

Numerous areas of our business reached franchise record levels this past season and we expect to maintain that high level of success off the court moving forward. Shaq brings an exciting new dynamic to our team and we expect that to help build positively off of the strong team performance last season.**

    * Actually I wrote this yesterday about whoever we draft, but it still seems to apply

** All of the rest of this blog is actually team talking points.  I found when I use these points, the blog nearly writes itself.  This is all part of my on-going test of the blog award committee....to see if they just give me awards willy-nilly, or if they actually look for quality.  We shall see.
